Working through my church I have been donating time and treasure to the Haiti Micah Project since 2010. It is truly by and for Haitians especially the most needy children. Having visited the Haiti Micah Project in Mirebalais twice (others in my church have visited two additional times). I can confirm that financial and material contributions go directly to those beloved children. When Cholera came the Micah project build a small water treatment plant using Haitian labor and no one got sick. As beneficiary children completed highschool a trade school was founded entirely by Haitians to add valuable skills. All of this is done by and for Haitians and provides employment for Haitian teachers, facilities staff and more. This is a model of how third world philanthropy should work.
