Mission: Gbchealth is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to leverage the power and resources of the business community for positive impact on global health challenges.
Programs: Focal point services and coordination as focal point to three private sector steering committee roles, gbchealth provides advocacy, content and coordination support for private sector input into key global health institutions. In fulfilling each of these roles, gbchealth brings a wide range of skills in the areas of strategy, policy, relationship management and coordination. In summary:- gbchealth has served as focal point to the global fund board's private sector delegation ("psd") since 2006, managing and facilitating engagement with and between psd member companies in fund board and committee meetings, psd policy task forces, and with the fund's secretariat. Psd has a tiered membership structure and is coordinated by gbchealth. As focal point, gbchealth cultivated strong relationships with other global fund constituencies and stakeholders, and recently implemented a robust policy-oriented task force structure to strengthen input and engagement across psd priority issues. - in 2014, gbchealth became the private sector focal point for the roll back malaria partnership ("rbm") secretariat. Gbchealth facilitates all policy review, communication and meetings with the private sector group and the secretariat, and participates in appropriate working groups and committees on behalf of the constituency. - gbchealth serves as corporate alliance on malaria in africa ("cama") secretariat, spearheading and coordinating cama initiatives, mobilizing private sector strategy and action on malaria in the most endemic regions by streamlining efforts across industry sectors and countries. Cama is a coalition of companies from various industries partnering to meet the goal of malaria elimination in africa, spearheading the implementation of activities prioritized by the 15 constituent members. Cama is a platform for knowledge-sharing and in-country collective action. Web-based and print communications vehiclesgbchealth's website, email communications, social media activity and printed materials are vital resources to companies. The information disseminated by gbchealth via these avenues provides companies with the tools and knowledge needed to take an active role in making a difference in global health. It supports companies in their efforts to understand and implement best practices. Thoughout the year, gbchealth will release reference materials, including newsletters, case studies of company programs, implementation guides, and papers on a diverse range of subjects, from roundtable reports to policy issues. Issue-driven workshops, events and teleconferencesgbchealth facilitates knowledge co-creation and joint planning through regional and global events, working groups, round-tables & teleconferences. Based on need or current trends and challenges in global health, gbchealth staff organizes agendas, content and facilitation of knowledge sharing with a focus on action and impact. These forums may include diverse constituents, including other ngos, government and multilateral partners, who support discussion and concept development by lending their highly relevant perspectives. Current thematic areas of focus include the health millennium development goals (mdg 4, 5 and 6) and the sustainable development goals ("sdgs"). Thematic areas are reviewed on a regular basis and prioritized according to corporate interest and public health need.
