Working for FXB USA is the best volunteer experience I have had. I am amazed by FXB's transformational impact on the lives of people in the most vulnerable communities around the globe. It is an honor for me to be able to contribute to such a meaningful cause.
Having interned at FXB USA as a fundraising intern, I can say that the work its team is doing is absolutely incredible. They are not only trying to understand poverty in all of its aspects but also provide sustainable solutions to end it, especially with the FXBVillage Model. With this holistic approach, FXB gives a little help to the most vulnerable to be full actors of their own development and reach autonomy for them and their children. I am confident that the very dedicated FXB team, in the US and around the world, will continue their impressive work to tackle the extreme poverty around the world !
As a volunteer consultant with FXB USA in the spring of 2016, I was continually impressed with the organization's holistic approach to fighting poverty as well as the FXB team's passion about enhancing aspects of its model to effect even broader change. FXB's theory of change addresses the interwoven drivers of poverty, from health to education, in an innovative way and clearly articulates how strategic investments can overcome these barriers. I admired how our main partner at FXB was so proactive about gathering insights and opinions from many voices, driven to expand the organization's impact by exploring, for example, adjustments to the funding model and social media presence. With such a dedicated and open-minded staff at its helm, I know FXB will continue to make such a positive difference in the field of poverty eradication.
I recently started working for FXB USA as a Communications Intern. The organization's mission is very unique in its approach. The FXBVillage model changes people's lives for the long term, making their future and the future of their children brighter. I hope I can work towards making the organization more visible, as I think that the answer to poverty is not simply giving charity, but giving opportunities as well. In my short time at FXB USA, I found that the important element to alleviating poverty is instilling in the poor that they can do it for themselves, they just need a little push in the right direction.
