Programs: Washed ashore: art to save the sea exhibit will be displayed at the garden for six months beginning december 2017. It is the biggest and most impactful exhibit in the 40-year history of the garden. This exciting exhibit features giant sea life sculptures made entirely of marine debris collected from beaches to graphically illustrate the tragedy of plastic pollution in our oceans and waterways. The sculptures are located throught the garden and will captivate all ages- with educational programs offered to highlight environmental conservation, stewardship, and microplastic pollution and its impacts on our delicate ecosystems.
mounts botanical garden provides a comprenhensive general education program to community residents centered on horticulture and environmental science. These programs encompass specific subjects on gardening and unusual plants such as orchids, bromeliads, etc. They also include information on planting and caring for sub-tropic plants. Mounts botanical garden also hosts several plant shows/sales throughout the year including a special orchid sale, rare plants, and tropical fruit plants/trees. Along with the adult program, mounts botanical garden has an extensive school program, serving over 3000 students this last year. The school program focuses on water and plant conservation, the diversity and functions of plants, and creating a sustainable future. The garden becomes an outdoor classroom where students learn through hands-on, interactive projects and tours.
