I’m on a fast for god to break evil curses and covenants in my life and in his word he says we must give to the poor. He who gives to the poor won’t be handed over to the will of his enemies. I thank you for allowing me the chance to send my last to support my brothers and sisters who know poverty as I do. If you are in poverty and you just can’t get ahead in life. You take 1 step forward and somehow you’re brought back 7 steps. If you see this comment I advise you look up on YouTube “Kevin la Ewing spirit of poverty”. And he explains how to break this curse through the teachings of Christ. In Jesus name I pray all my brothers and sisters come upon these revelations. And if you ever need someone to talk to my number is (305) 879-8150. Much love. Aaliyah Allen.

The Lord's Place helps so many individuals and families when they have no where else to go...It is a pleasure for me to donate household items, clothing and food whenever I can. I know that it will go to good use.

Having served on the Board of The Lord's Place since it's inception over thirty years ago, I have directly witnessed the quality and quantity of the organization's impact on the lives of individuals caught involuntarily in the otherwise inescapable trap of poverty and homelessness. Thousands of lives have been salvaged through the work of an extraordinarily caring , competent, and dedicated staff delivering focused services through innovative programs.

I have been a supporter of The Lord's Place since I was a newspaper reporter 30 years ago when it was first started by Brother Joe and others including Jack Scarola. I admired the mission to help the homeless and donated what I could as a young professional. For the past 8 years I have had the opportunity to get to see the amazing work of The Lord's Place close up as the public relations consultant to the agency. There are so many stories of success and accomplishment to share. The staff and board truly care and effective in bring best practices to the mission, the clients are amazing in their commitment to changing their lives and the public seems to understand that this is an agency that is doing important work in our community. Please support this agency which is taking the lead in helping some of the most vulnerable in our community.

I have worked with The Lord's Place for nearly 10 years and find it to be one of the most professionally-run, client-oriented organizations in the field. Instead of looking for funding sources and designing programs that fit certain grants, The Lord's Place constantly aligns its programs to meet its clients' needs and finds funding from a variety of sources to meet those needs. The real key to the success of The Lord's Place is the individualized and in depth attention paid to each of the client's needs both short-term and long-term, combined with a deep level of caring and commitment to seeing the clients through to success. Second, and even third, chances are given to help clients find their way out of homelessness. It is a blessing to serve with them and this organization has dramatically changed thousands of lives.

Jesus tried to teach us that our love and concern for others is demonstrated not just by our thoughts and prayers, but by our actions. He taught us that, "if you have done it unto the least of my children, you have done it unto me." The Lord's Place does not engage in what it does to earn praise or recognition. They do it to help others. What is a better way to exemplify Christianity than that? Three cheers and blessings for The Lord's Place. Dr. Jim Weaver.

I wanted to donate some furniture a couple years ago and The Lord's Place was the ONLY charitable organization that we the extra step to schedule a pickup at my convenience. The truck arrived on time with three very cheerful and energetic young men who loaded all the furniture in record time. When the time came to donate more furniture, I made one call - to The Lord's Place.

I have donated funds to The Lord's Place on more than one occasion. I believe it provides a unique model for charitable assistance to folks who are down on their luck and only need an empathetic ear and a helping hand to gain or regain a sense of dignity, pride, and self-worth, and join or rejoin the ranks of productive and happy members of society. We owe it to ourselves and our country to support charities like this that fill gaps in government assistance.

As a volunteer video producer, I've had numerous opportunities to work closely with both staff and the clients of The Lord's Place. I'm always impressed by the genuine concern and respect the staff has for their formerly homeless clients; and the long term planning, caring and compassion they bring to each person.

One of my most precious experiences is when I do in-depth interviews with the Lord's Place clients. I see up close how much the program has changed their lives, and how deeply grateful they are. The stories of redemption and change are among the most uplifting I had ever witnessed

I got the chance to volunteer with the Lords place two weeks ago with a group of high schoolers. We got a chance to work in a lot that they are working to turn into a park that will act as a space for kids to play as well as a community gathering garden, a place for people to be together. We had an incredible time working with the staff as well as some of older and younger members of the community. I was so warmed by the open arms that received us there. So grateful for this place.

The Lord's Place is an amazing organization that does incredible good for the community it serves; I volunteered over the course of this summer and my expectations were far exceeded. The feel of the organization is familial: clients, volunteers, staff, and administration all work together seamlessly with humility and kindness. This organization changes lives of both the served and the serving, and I am honored to have been able to witness and partake in the wonderful things the Lord's Place does every single day.

having seen the compassion and the kindness that the volunteers and staff exhibit at The Lords Place it is clear that this is a very special place.

reading the review of the person who gave them one star it is apparent that the reviewers mitigating circumstances are very serious. but in my experience the front door at the lords place is a sanctuary filled with good people doing their best to help those people who are truly seeking to end their homelessness.

having spent many hours volunteering in the cafe, i have seen the staff sit down with individuals that most of us wouldnt even see driving down the street. i have seen them break bread with these folks and really work hard to find those folks the assistance they need.

Due to mitigating circumstances, I am forced to seek assistance and in the immediate area of where I am - there are NO services to assist community members who have lost employment (and I didn't qualify for unemployment)
Nonetheless, I found this facility on line and I called July 9th, 2014; the woman that answered the phone was absolutely HATEFUL......something that the name of the facility - LORDS PLACE INC. is contradicting to say the least.

With that said, I am more inclined to disavow my Christian faith because of people like her. It was UNCALLED FOR AND UNNECESSARY.

I continue to be impressed by the way that The Lord's Place finds ways to effectively and creatively serve clients with a variety of life-changing programs. Their latest endeavors--including a revamped Cafe Joshua and the opening of the much-needed Burckle Place-- are shining examples of ways that their staff, board, and volunteers are serving and connecting with our community and making it a better place in which to live.

I will begin my third year as a volulnteer at Cafe Joshua. The bulk of my time has been spent as a table companion. It is extremely rewarding for me . I never leave the table at the end of my shift that I do not feel I have had some kind of positive effect on the homeless I have been visiting with and encouraging. As a homeschooling mom, I am always on the lookout for a community project that welcomes teens. We participated in your annual fundraiser "The SleepOut". My son learned so much about what it is like to be homeless. We are very lucky to be where we are. We have a home and food. This opportunity to listen to, speak to and fundraise for those who had or presently were homeless was an eye opening and educational moment for him. He still talks about it today with his peers.
The wonderful thing is that the typical stigma these people have to live with did not present itself for my son. He was not afraid .Which for some reason , was the biggest question he received when he told people he was doing your event. " Aren't you afraid ?" You made it very relatable for a young mind. He was able to see them as a fellow human being with similar dreams and interests as his own. This was a direct result of the work that you do. It was a professionally run event. We laughed, we cried, we ate fantastic food, we participated in crafts, and met so many wonderful people. We can't wait to do it again!

My name is Fr. Bob and I am a volunteer on Thursdays during the winter at the Joshua Café. During my two years there I have been very impressed with the entire organization. I have learned so much about the many and varied programs that assist the men and women (and children) that arrive at their door seeking different types of assistance. Not only does the entire staff in the many programs offered direct them so well but they, in turn, appreciate the help they receive and respond so well. It's a delight to read each week the names of those who have secured a job and to listen to their individual stories as they move through their program. I have the greatest admiration for the staff and the clients. I look forward to each Thursday and intend to offer my assistance for years to come, God willing. It truly is an outstanding home to many.

The Lord’s Place exemplifies what a non-profit social service organization should be. For more than 30 years it has helped homeless individuals and families not only with “a hand up” but also as a leader and advocate in the community. It focuses on the needs of its clients and is recognized as “the voice of the homeless" in our community. It has been nationally recognized for the work it does and it continues to play a leadership role in guiding both public and private dialogue on how to most effectively serve the needs of homeless people. Not only has it changed the lives of many through the services it offers, it has also changed the way many who have never been homeless view those less fortunate than them. I am very proud to have been a long time supporter and volunteer of The Lord’s Place and will continue to be for as long as I am able.

It is an opportunity to give back to men, women and even children less fortunate than myself a sense of self worth. A kind word, encouragement, being treated as a special human being which we all are no matter what our circumstances. They all give me so much more than I CAN EVER GIVE THEM. Paula Chattin

I am a licensed social worker new to Florida and have been volunteering at The Lord's Place using my professional skills. Having worked for social service agencies for years, I am aware of those organizations who only exist for the benefit of the employees and to maximize payouts from entitlement programs. This is NOT the case with The Lord's Place! The level of caring-for a group of our population who few even know exists-is extrordinary. The staff is compassionate, genuinely enthusiastic and most professional. I have been a board member with The Lord's Place for the past few months, after having been involved with the organization in a volunteer/cupporter capacity. What attracted me to this organization is its high level of commitment to its clients - the chronically homeless; its exceptionally talented and dedicated managment team (truly unparalleled and exceptional); their innovative initiatives and programming that has met great success, and continues to challenge the status quo; and a culture of caring and concern for their clients, staff, and the greater community. A donation to The Lord's Place is an investment in a long term commitment and a results oriented program that is making a difference in breaking hte cycle of homelessness. I recommend this organization in any way you are able to serve or support it - without reservation or hesitation!

I am a 12 year volunteer for The Lord's Place. I am completely involved with the overall mission and overall productivity of The Lord's Place. Coming here every week and having conversations with the people and homeless, makes me feel more than ever impressed with what can be done when you offer conversation and the ability to listen. I am here because I can't believe how lucky I am compared to those who have no place to live, nowhere to go to school or no place to eat. The stories that come through day-by-day are amazing from what these people are able to do now that they weren't able to do before they came through The Lord's Place. There's more to The Lord's Place than just food and a place to live, there are educational opportunities (free of charge) on all kinds of skills. There are many apprenticeship opportunities. Once you come into The Lord's Place to give your time, you quickly learn that homeless individuals come here to become skilled persons so that they can change their entire lives. The Lord's Place does just that...it changes the lives of the homeless men and women and their children. The Lord's Place has a committed staff.

One of my neighbors was being evicted last month. He is an acute alcoholic and he had no where to go. I took him to The Lord's Place on Australian where he entered their homeless program which gave him a roof above his head as long as he stayed sober. He was treated with great respect. After staying at the shelter for three weeks he has been able to return to Nashville, TN, where he'll work again as a productive member of society. Without The Lord's Place this man's case would have been hopeless.

The Lord's Place has been working to break the cycle of homelessness in Palm Beach County since 1979 (the year I was born). For as far back as I can remember, this has been the organization of choice for my family to give to and help. I have seen them grow over the years and today they have outstanding leadership and do incredible work for homeless individuals in the community. They do not only provide beds for those who don't have one, but they also give the individuals skills and tools to be able to survive on their own and not return to homelessness. I highly recommend supporting The Lord's Place!
