Causes: Environment, Water, Water Resources, Wetlands Conservation & Management
Mission: Friends of + pool supports the development, operation and maintenance of + pool. It also supports the preservation, restoration and conservation of natural bodies of water, promotes water stewardship; and educates the public about the importance of clean water.
Programs: Friends of +pool has continued to spearhead the development of +pool, the first water-filtrating floating swimming pool that will clean the new york harbor while providing a public, recreational space for all new yorkers. Major accomplishments also include educational programs for the community + pool will one day serve, including free swim lessons for underserved youth, education and public programs that teach about water quality and promote stewardship.
