If you are concerned about the state of our world, you should search the PCI Media Website.
For almost 40 years this organization has worked with communities world-wide seeking ways to improve the lives of their people. Using the amazing power of story-telling, PCI provides clear visions of a healthy, safe and sustainable life and a path for making the changes needed to achieve it. Using a variety of media (TV, Radio, mobile phones ,internet) programs are co-created with members of the communities. As a board member, I am most proud of the fact that we leave them with the tools and skills to continue to thrive.
I was introduced to PCI Media over 15 years ago and have have continued to support their amazing work ever since. What attracted me to the organization is their commitment
to working with the communities they serve to develop solutions to local problems...there are no cookie cutter programs designed for "one size fits all"( as often happens in development work.) PCI's ability to work throughout the world in every culture is based on values of collaboration and respect. I am proud to have become the Board Chair of this organization whose impact continues to grow and truely makes a difference in the lives of over a billion people.
PCI Media empowers communities worldwide to inspire positive social and environmental change through storytelling and creative communications. One of the most creative and beautiful projects that PCI Media spearheaded recently was in Bangladesh, where there was a campaign against child marriage. For this nationwide campaign — “Drumbeats for Change” —PCI Media created a sound that was played at the end of the campaign’s videos, triggering a notion within the viewer that childhood marriage is a problem and should not be allowed. This is just one example of many of the ways in which PCI Media is leading the charge for telling global impactful stories for social change through Entertainment-Education; a movement that PCI Media has been at the forefront of that effort for 34 years.
Where can you make a donation that will provide loved television serials and talk shows that also educate people around the world on important issues like family planning, use of condoms, environmental carefulness, and much more? That is PCI Media. It is called "educational entertainment." It has the number two popular serial in Bangladesh that is about a girl creating her own high school soccer team and league and similar shows are now being produced in other countries. This is what PCI Media does in Central America, Africa, and Asia. It warms your heart to be a part of it!
PCI Media is a unique organization working in an area that most people and organizations neglect--communications. While most organizations have auspicious plans to impact important social issues, without an effective communications plan, they will be severely hindered. PCI Media has over 40 years of experience in the social behavior change communications field, and has worked around the globe helping communities to change behavior and attitudes around a host of issues affecting the communities health, the environment, and social justice. Most importantly, the organization has great leadership and is on the cusp of breaking out as the premier organization in the field.
Over the past 5 years that I have worked with PCI Media, they have shown great leadership and effective use of innovative storytelling in the fight against Wildlife Trafficking and Climate Change, especially, in West Africa.
I was an intern at PCI Media for around 5 months and have learned and grown from such amazing experience.
The team is always there to help one another, as they truly work hard to be the best at what they want to achieve.
I’m grateful and thankful to have had an opportunity to be an intern there!
I became familiar with PCI Media nearly a decade ago through my brother-in-law who had been supporting its work, and was so impressed with what PCI Media was accomplishing, I jumped at the opportunity to join its board when invited. There are few organizations that I know of that are having as much of an impact around the world as PCI Media. And it all starts with a keen understanding of the simple yet persuasive power of a story. Combining that with a rigorous social behavior change communication methodology gives PCI Media the ability to help any community to shift attitudes and behaviors around an array of issues in the realms of health, the environment, and social justice—all to improve the quality of people’s lives. As the world faces what appears to be existential environmental threats and global health challenges, we need now more than ever the tools that PCI Media provides to help us create a new story that embraces the best of our human values and supports solutions to our most pressing problems.
I have been part of the PCI Media family for nearly 20 years. I first learned of their amazing work in entertainment-education when I was in graduate school. They were literally telling stories that saved lives. Nothing was left to chance, as all productions and program elements were based on formative research. After interning at PCI Media in grad school, I become an entertainment-education scholar and have taught this methodology for over 15 years. Today, I am a proud board member of this fine organization. We have expanded our traditional media programs to embrace technology and expand our reach and impact. While every program shows our flexibility, skills and insight, nothing has impressed me more than our #ISurvivedEbola campaign where we, in real time, saved thousands of lives and helped alleviate stigma. The mighty PCI Media team has the heart, experience and vision to continue this work and quickly adapt to our world of changing needs for decades to come.
Heart. Substance. Experience. Dedication. Proven success. This is how I would describe the people and the work of PCI-Media Impact. They work tirelessly with a relentless attention to the smallest details, always ensuring the story they tell is supported by research and serving to educate and heal their intended audience. Their groundbreaking work on #ISurvivedEbola saved thousands of lives and calmed a nation. This campaign delicately honored those suffering and lost, while it artfully empowered and gave hope to the living. Storytelling at its BEST!
I have been involved with PCI Media for more than 30 years as a supporter, Board Member, and former Chair. PCI Media's unique storytelling approach to worldwide issues such as the environment, public health, and social justice has proven to be an extremely effective methodology in improving the lives of billions of people around the world. By combining storytelling and media technologies, PCI Media is able to work as an award-winning and high impactful global NGO. Extremely well managed organization with proven strategies. And great to work with. Terrific communicators as well.
I worked as an Environmental Campaigns Intern with PCI Media for two summers and had a phenomenal and purposeful experience. PCI puts capacity building at the forefront of their work across their portfolios, targeting real people seeking to make substantial change in their communities. The creativity, professionalism, and drive of PCI sets it apart from others in this field and I feel lucky to have collaborated and learned from the team.
This is my second summer working as an intern with PCI Media and I am continuously impressed by this organization's use of behavior change communications to address social, public health, and environmental threats in communities around the globe. With their capacity building approach and diverse portfolio, the PCI team has established themselves as leaders in their field of promoting a more just and sustainable world through purposeful communication campaigns.
Throughout the ages, the power of storytelling has lifted our spirits, guided our experience and taught us the lessons that have shaped our collective progress. PCI Media, unique among organizations in public health, environment and social justice has linked art with science, tragedy and comedy and entertainment with education and it has done so in a way that reaches people where they live and where they strive for a better life.
Using evidence-based cognitive learning techniques, PCI Media creates characters and storylines that illustrate attitudes and behaviors that either help or hinder their lives. The result is a good story, well told and countless broadcast media serial dramas that soon become national treasures. Family planning and reproductive health, pandemics and emergency interventions, climate change and human rights issues have all been impacted by PCI Media and its amazing ability to lead international collaborations and partnerships.
The best part is that tax-deductible contributions are often matched and always generate exceptional value in primary prevention, behaviors that help reduce our carbon footprint and behaviors that help us live better lives and work together with more cooperation and compassion.
It’s an honor to recommend this organization…a truly great nonprofit!
PCI Media did a phenomenal job helping us to launch a four country radio awareness campaign around key agricultural practices to ensure food security in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PCI team worked very closely with our team, building our capacity to do social behavior change communication campaigns overall while enabling us to execute a critical campaign in a fully remote work environment on a short deadline. The quality of the radio content that they produced was wonderful and they did a great job to make sure that the sometimes quite complex key messages that were important to our technical experts were presented in a way that was technically accurate but also engaging and appropriate for our target audiences. The PCI Media team consistently displayed professionalism and expert understanding of how to use radio to raise awareness and create behavior change. Their knowledge and experience was vital to the success of our campaign. Highly recommended.
Wow! Imagine a one minute commercial where a man in a busy marketplace in India orders an entire large fish and reveals it is for the arranged marriage of his daughter. The vendor preparing the fish begins to consistently bang his knife loudly on the cutting block. Within moments the hundreds of other people in the busy marketplace begin silently banging loudly on something. After 30 seconds of this, followed by silence, the man says he will not need the fish to cheers by all. This is the kind of infomercial PCI Media uses to bring about social maturation in India and other places around the world. They do everything from entertaining talk shows on family planning, the use of condoms, covid-19 protection, and sustainable environment behavior to comic books for children where the priority is socially responsible education. With 23 programs in 65 countries and 40 languages, PCI Media is using entertainment to mature us all.
PCI Media does powerful work to encourage action on a variety of justice issues. Their staff are dedicated and passionate, and the agency's creative use of storytelling ensures that the voices of those most impacted are centered.
PCI Media inspires communities worldwide to take action on social justice, health, and the environment through their creative storytelling in a variety of formats. What I like best about PCI is that instead of producing a product and then trying to sell it, its productions are created by in-country teams who know--are part of--their cultural and social landscape. Also, local men and women are employed in the production of their media products.
PCI Media Impact is a great organization with the ingenious mission of harnessing effective storytelling through the powerful platform of media and communication to educate and effect behavioral change in various areas needing attention from environmental issues to healthcare all over the world. Amazing how a small organization can have a huge impact for the global greater good!
I've engaged with PCI Media for several years as an advisor, and in that time they've consistently displayed a wonderful mix of integrity, professionalism, enthusiasm, and imagination in their work. Their team is a joy, each member intelligent and focussed. To work with them, and towards their vision, is nothing short of a privilege.
As a volunteer for PCI Media, I have always been impressed with the power of their mission. Changing attitudes and behaviors on health, environment and social justice issues is a major contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This NGO is the real deal and I am delighted to support their work.
As an international professional management expert who worked for 21 years for the largest organization in the field of Population (IPPF-1977-1997), I always considered this smaller sister NGO as second to no other in our area of action because of the inspirational and visionary leadership of its founder and successive Board of Directors.
In the late 1990s, PCI's CEO, Mr. David Andrews, asked me to help with their program in Mexico; I accepted with no hesitation. The experience was awesome. I worked with the leaders of Mexican TV who made soap-opera a phenomenon that heralded the arrival of global home entertainment. PCI offered them to become a game-changer of major proportions through social media. Everyone respected its staff, and more importantly, they embraced its mission.
The management of program operations was effective, economical, and prompt. Twenty years later, I glad to confirm through < charitynavigator.com> that PCI Media Impact is a "textbook" case for compliance with best practices in the sector, because of institutional transparency, accountability and especially in the ratios of program expenditures with 84% of the budget going to program execution.
In sum, memories may be excellent. However, current facts and figures that count are open public record and available. I feel comfortable stating that I could not imagine PCI Impact being second to no other NGO of any size.
I have been working with PCI for over a year helping with their work to protect the environment around coastal areas in western africa against climate change, as well as their dedication for saving African wild life from extinction.
Where news reports and statistics fail to effectively communicate the lived experience of individuals and communities around the world, stories like those given a platform by PCI Media shine. If it weren't for work like theirs, it would be all too easy for each and everyone of us to remain locked in our confined worlds without an iota of care for the lives of others.
PCI Media Impact is staffed by a team of individuals who always to rise to the challenge, no matter the task at hand. As an IT advisor I have had the pleasure of interfacing with several team members firsthand, and I have been consistently impressed with their dedication. Beyond that, I wholeheartedly support this organization's mission of reaching and assisting people in ways that are meaningful to their own cultural milieu, and I wish them every success in the future.
PCI's mission is entirely reflected in their work. The staff is caring, hard-working and collaborative. They do great work across their portfolios in health, environment and social justice. I am most familiar with their social justice programming, and I was so impressed with the way the team approached very complicated, intersectional topics in a way that always remembers who they're serving.
PCI's mission is inspiring, the work that they do honestly makes me see just how powerful and wonderful NGOs can be. I have been following their work for nearly a decade now, and through all the radio shows, music videos, and comics, I seem them change not only lives, but full communities. PCI gives me hope for the world.
PCI Media is a great organization doing amazing communications work in health, social justice and climate change all over the world. I have been impressed with their behaviour change campaigns and use of complementary low-tech tools like comic books. I have met a number of their team members and find them very professional and totally committed to social impact at scale. Superb!
PCI Media Impact was my first internship experience, and I have loved volunteering here. My favorite part about this organization is their extensive portfolio of topics, countries, and people that are covered in their engaging campaigns. PCI Media's involvement and experience with areas ranging from women's health to reducing plastic consumption demonstrates their ability to spark behavior change in any part of the world.
Pci Media Impact is indeed an outstanding and credible organization.
Their media for Health, Social Justice and Environment are just so powerful.
They really highlight the power of story telling for social change.
This organization works tirelessly to help animals all over the world. Their program “wild for life” is amazing. I have read about their works and accomplishments in saving the lives of all these innocent animals. I just love what they do!
Brilliant work, Brilliant team! Couldn't be more impressed with the dedication and commitment of all staff members. They do good work for our future generations. It’s such an amazing organization that deserves your support and encouragement.
Awesome non profit company that helps so many people all over the world. Their way of telling stories is unique and empowers communities worldwide. They rock! Thank you PCI media impact.
PCI media really uses storytelling to make a difference. This organization is the perfect way to become the voice of many thousands.
Thank you for all you do to make our world better, healthier and a more productive place.
I worked in the past as an intern at PCI Media Impact. It was such an enriching experience. The team is amazing and you quickly get involved in lot of interesting and challenging projects. People with different experiences and knowledge to offer. Great environment with great people to work with.
Working for them has really helped develop my skills as well as my personal life. The days at the office were really productive, there was a lot to learn and we could get involved in many different fields which enlarged my experience.
Sean, the CEO, is such a tireless person which encourages you to do more and more everyday.
I miss all the team and working there.
I recently attended the Champions of the Earth event in NYC sponsored by the UN. PCI Media Impact did a wonderful job organizing the event. Everything went smooth, the food and entertainment were fantastic, and I left the event inspired. I would recommend PCI Media Impact to all my colleagues. Great work!
I recently attended the Champions of the Earth event in NYC sponsored by the UN. It was a great event and PCI Media did a fabulous job organizing and managing this event. The skill they showed made the event a truly memorable experience for all who attended.
I am Vice Chair of the Board of NY/NJ Baykeeper and I was recently thrilled to be able to attend, along with other members of our organization, the Champions of the Earth event event sponsored by the UN at Cipriani in NYC. The event was a huge success with every detail scene to in an incredibly professional and seamless manner. It was organized, planned and executed by PCI Media Impact, and both their skill and level of care for the cause were more than evident all night long. The art of storytelling used in all their work was clear throughout the evening. You could not but be moved by the lives, and ideas, and yes, creations of the young people being honored. That was true not only because of the incredible stories of the young people, but of the way the stories were told. That is precisely why this group is so effective. The ability to use stories to move the world is incredibly valuable, and PCI Media does it flawlessly.
I recently had the district privilege of attending the 2018 Champions of the Earth gala dinner at Cipriani, here in New York, sponsored by the UN. PCI Media Impact organized, planned and managed the event. Thanks to their suburb direction and coordination the evening was a complete success from beginning to end--a gala indeed. Their professionalism was always in evidence throughout the evening's program, a quite complex one that required perfect timing and first class attention to every detail. Their skill and experience with events such as this one insured that the young environmental Honorees, the stars of the evening, were honored in a manner befitting their unique contributions to the betterment of our planet. One had only to listen to their comments and look in their eyes to understand that they were awed by the incredible reception they received. PCI was magnifigant, guaranteeing that everything just flowed and fit together beautifully. The event was a total success for these incredible young people and the United Nations, not to mention all in attendance. Kudos to PCI absolutely!
PCi Media Impacts' recent work with the UN Environment presenting the Young Champions of the Earth illuminated the importance of "outside of the box"and innovative thinking with regard to environmental issues around the world. The presentations by the Young Champions left us inspired and hopeful. PCI Media Impact's work was excellent and its goals accomplished.
PCI Media is the most hard working, socially connected, and kind hearted non-profit organization. I have been working here for about four months now in the communication section , and I have to say the genuinity, kindness and hard work that each and every individual inputs is unbelievable. It is an extremely safe environment and welcoming to anyone who is willing to give a hand. I learned how to communicate with people through writing and blog posting. PCI Media also has created way in which we can all keep in contact with each other through an app, which shows the commitment PCI has for keeping everyone on the same page, no one gets left behind or not up to date about information. By far an amazing non-profit organization.
I volunteered with PCI the summer before I started college. It is an amazing company dedicated to serving the people in its realm and they are always looking to expand and cultivate new ideas. This company thrives on ideas and new thinking and thus will always be prosperous when it comes to any new mission.
The WILD FOR LIFE campaign in collaboration with UN Environment was very effective and eye-catching. It attracted attention to the issues in a novel and engaging way. Excellent work.
Some great ideas and projects for educating through story telling. Particularly beneficial in helping educate to prevent unnecessary infant mortalities in Africa (East and Southern) through the Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Child package.
An excellent not-for-profit with a superb body of work and tract record that overshadows its small size.
Innovative nonprofit using SBCC and Entertainment-Education to bring major changes to the world. I was particularly impressed by their work around Ebola in West Africa. This was not just about spreading health and hygeine messages but also about reintegrating survivors into society. A very valuable part of the process which can be neglected in the heat of an emergency. Displays the holistic approach exemplified by this organization.
This organization really stands out. PCI Media use storytelling and communication to make a difference. They work in Latin America and Africa and around the world. Their impact is vast.
PCI Media Impact is a non-profit with heart and soul, and I would say a lot of that is because of its present CEO, Sean Southey who is a dynamic, devoted and enlightened communicator. My first contact with Sean was at a cocktail party and when he heard about my new organisation, One Minute for Earth, he was very excited, supportive and encouraging, and invited me to contact him if I wanted to talk about ideas. So I did and Sean was extremely generous with his time and inspiration. PCI has since invited One Minute for Earth to be part of their #NatureForAll campaign for which we created a New Year's campaign called "Make Your New Year's Resolution a Nature Solution". Working with PCI is always inspiring and fun, and always a learning experience. What strikes me the most about PCI Media Impact is their ability to work collaboratively. They encourage it, promote it, nurture it. We are one global community and it is through working together that we will achieve all that we dream of.
I have worked with PCI Media Impact from 5th to 8th of this month in Dhaka in a workshop named "Entertainment Education and transmedia communication for development". Working with such an amazing team of people is a great experience for me. This workshop was mainly for the development of adolescents and the adolescent members of this workshop were given the most importance. It was a very positive view. I wish I could get the opportunity to work with them again. A lot of good wishes for PCI media impact.
We at Tinta Vital, a Mexican start-up company, began collaborating with PCI Media Impact only recently, as of January 2017, specifically for the production of a comic book for the #NatureForAll campaign. Although our collaboration is very new, from the very start we have gotten a clear sense of partnership with PCI Media Impact. This is translating for us into a team-like feeling, as if it were PCI's decided intention to also create success stories by bolstering the strengths and capacities of its partners. I bet that, if I were a small, well-meaning company in a remote community of a very poor country, partnering with PCI Media Impact would empower my company's efforts towards making the urgently needed social changes for a better world. - Beatriz Padilla, CEO
PCI Media Impact values story, believes in collaboration, and isn't afraid of taking on challenging subjects. Spending time working with their team on a campaign has been an incredible learning experience. I saw first hand how much passion they have for stories that can cultivate positive change in the world. What shined the most was the teams openness. They rarely say "no", and are committed to making sure everyone who is a part of a project contributes and has their voice reflected in a final product. And, those products address difficult and complicated subjects. The lessons I have learned from the team will continue to shape me as a person. They are a special group to work with.
PCI Media Impact epitomizes the true essence of integrity, creativity and commitment. Its excellence in inspiring positive social and environmental change through creative storytelling stems first and foremost from the dedication and compassion of its exceptional team and their innovative ability to raise awareness and empower communities around the world. I recently had the resounding privilege of interning with PCI Media and can happily affirm that the time I spent with this aspiring team of individuals was nothing short of unforgettable.
PCI Media Impact operates as a team of dedicated, passionate individuals who make a concerted effort to effect tangible change in the world. I interned with PCI for three months, primarily with the Environment Programs department, and can personally attest to its outreach capacity. The projects implemented by PCI are unique in their ability to captivate audiences through creative storytelling. They create real, visible behavior changes and lead to positive impacts for a variety of causes across the globe. I have been fortunate enough to experience this first-hand, and am proud to have been part of this incredible team of people.
The highly professional, well targeted stories prepared by PCI Media Impact are valuable, attractive resources for my courses, trainings almost all of the fields of sustainable development. PCI is amplifying the strength of storytelling by message-tailored format and design that my students, trainees and partners highly appreciate. If you want your story to articulate properly and spread around the world I recommend to contact this ambitious and mindful team.
We had the opportunity to meet PCI's Executive Director, Sean Southey, this last year and directly observe his, and his team's, passion and commitment to their work. It was impressive and inspiring and to see their level of expertise in creating and implementing a complete branding brand package for the IUCN's Nature For All program. Cheers to PCI Media Impact, and all that they do to make the world a better place through their unique nonprofit-niche.
You can measure the importance of PCI Media Impact's work by their success stories. Volunteering with them, I have heard and seen numerous examples of stories in which important and complicated ideas were communicated effectively and in new ways. By creating stories they are educating, informing, and changing the conversation for people around the world.
PCI does amazing work, using entertainment and media in this incredibly useful way to actually impact lives and communities around the world. The level of detail and care that the staff have towards the project is truly admirable. I loved my time interning at the office, I got to feel that I was doing real work. I worked on the ISurvivedEbola campaign, and I know that the videos that PCI made and the impact that they had on those African communities was immeasurably substantial.
PCI Media is always ready to jump on a new project proposal and turn it around with great levels of detail and expertise. They are great partners who work really well in collaboration with other groups in multi-organization campaign settings. The team brings joy, creativity and a deep understanding of strategies as entertainment-education and other communication tools that have helped us engage "unusual audiences" on issues as decentralized renewable energy and air pollution.
We worked with PCI Media Impact on an entertainment education radio soap-opera for communities in India, with the objective of engaging these communities on campaigns for energy access and distributed solar power solutions. Media Impact delivered high quality work, that included on-site research, engagement with our partners, the production of 8x30' episodes and the placement of the program on the state radio, within a very short time frame and budget and with a high level of quality. Media Impact staff were not only very professional and knowledgeable, but also available, responsive, respectful and open for constructive engagement with the various partners involved in the work.
This work lead to another partnership - suggested by PCI ME - for the development of the climate change piece of the Comics Uniting Nations project, where again PCI Media Impact delivered high quality work that included a dynamic, multi-stakeholder narrative development process and around the clock consultations and feed-back management of multiple partners. As from before, its staff were very professional, respectful and proactive.
I have wonderful experiences sharing experiences and working together with PCI Media Impact since 2010 and recently on the incredible movement together 'NatureForAll' during the IUCN's World Conservation Congress in Honolulu. It was the best pavilion and best place to be in the Exhibition hall. They are first of all form a great team with huge entusiasm and use the powerful tool 'creative storytelling that really change people's life and their attitude towards sustainable development. PCI Media Impact is one my favourite partner when it comes to communication and outreach!
I worked with PCI media impact in May 2016 as a volunteer under their Wild For Life Campaign that aims tackling illegal trade in wildlife.I must say it was quite an illuminating experience for me, as I got to learn about other endangered wildlife like the Pangolin save for the elephant that I knew before as well measures to protect them.
Pci Media Impact is indeed an outstanding and credible organization that believed in greater change in Storytelling right round the world. Pci Media Impact has created an awareness in the nation of Sierra Leone true radio drama and videos drama with Ebola survivors during the fight against the Ebola virus. Pci Media Impact is really an inspiring organization that believe in greater storytelling. Pci Media Impact really have the ability in doing ground work to develop projects and all their staff are really devoted and dedicated to their work causes. I worked with pci Media Impact in this particular project ISurvivedEbola campaign project. It was really amazing to see how creative, innovative and helpful pci Media Impact was doing their ground work. I wish to work with pci Media Impact again and i am waiting to see what will be the project for next year. I highly recommend pci Media Impact to any organizations and governments looking out there to save lives and communities right round the world
With their great energy, expertise and ambition, PCI Media Impact produces excellent results! Working with their team was not only professionally enriching, it was also a lot of fun.
Learning is the world's greatest challenge. Using entertainment is an excellent way to reach those who don't always have access to schools or universities. In the western developed economies we are constantly learning from entertainment - but often one that does the opposite of PCI Media Impact - as it spreads violence and fear. PCI Media Impact is unique in its ability to work on the ground - to develop programs and content with the people concerned. Its staff are amazingly dedicated to the causes they work for and not afraid to take on the most difficult challenges of HIV, Ebola, domestic violence, gender discrimination, climate change and nature conservation.
PCI Media Impact is an outstanding organization deepening the insights of intrinsic value of nature and natural resources integrating school children and connecting people to the nature protection through media campaign. Establishing link between East West creates long term sustainability of our mother earth, the planet.
Over the past few years I have been so fortunate as to work with PCI Media Impact in conjunction with Foncet, a conservation foundation that protects the El Triunfo Reserve in Chiapas, Mexico. PCI Media Impact has been a huge resource for bringing awareness to the public about this reserve and other environmental and social issues through their involvement in radio and supporting a theater play created for educating children through entertainment.
The employees at PCI are always a pleasure to work with and are very enthusiastic about what they do. Their passion for getting involved in world-changing projects is what makes them such an important group of people who are always looking to improve communities around the world and create sustainable templates for future growth.
I look forward to working with them more in the future and am excited to see what projects they have in store for this coming year. Their dedication to each of their projects is apparent through each one's success and I am sure they will continue to be an important presence within non-profit organizations.
This year I had the opportunity to intern at PCI and everyday at the office has been a learning experience. The team's dedication, rigour and programmatic diversity is inspiring. PCI's work in the field of behaviour change and in empowering communities has re-ignited my passion and commitment to environmental justice and community development.
In 2008, when I retired from UNICEF, PCI Media Impact asked me to fill in as interim Director of Programs. Over the next 10 months I witnessed first-hand what a wonderful organization it is, despite the fact that it had fallen on hard times. Since I left, it has been remarkable to witness the organization's rapid turn-around. New, dynamic leadership and wise guidance on the part of its board have combined to grow PCI Media Impact into a truly global organization that uses innovative Entertainment Education and Communication for Development methodologies to make the world a better place. Their model is rights-based, participatory, respectful of people's dignity and culture, and relies on evidence to measure results, across an array of burning issues at the core of the Sustainable Development Agenda. They have gained the trust of communities and donors, harnessed new and traditional media to promote justice and social change. My communication consulting company is proud to partner with CEO Sean Southey and his team and would recommend them to organizations and governments seeking to make a difference for people and planet. -- Robert Cohen, Director, Rain Barrel Communications LLC
