Mission: The Foundation for Digestive Health and Nutrition (FDHN) is the foundation of the AGA. Incorporated in 2001, the Foundation is governed by a distinguished board of AGA physicians and members of the public. The mission of the Foundation is to provide funds for research and public education in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of digestive diseases. The Foundation?s work benefits all professionals in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology, from researchers to clinicians in private practice, as well as patients afflicted with digestive diseases. Along with the AGA, the Foundation conducts public education initiatives related to digestive diseases. The Foundation also administers the disbursement of research grants on behalf of the AGA and other funders. To support these initiatives, the Foundation has an active fund-raising program and works with volunteers to raise funds for digestive disease research and public education.
