Programs: Animal and conservation: the living animal collection includes almost 600 species and nearly 7,000 individual specimens of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates. Animal programs include a state-of-the-art animal hospital and nutrition lab, animal commissary and conservation research center. The animal staff also supports numerous projects in texas and approximately 30 countries worldwide.

Our guests typically consist of almost 500,000 adults, 400,000 children, 30,000 seniors, and 75,000 to 90,000 visits by members, with approximately 75% of our visitors coming from the dallas-fort worth metroplex. Zoo visitors are treated to natural habitat animal exhibits, interactive learning experiences, and entertaining attractions.
educational programs: approximately 30,000 students and teachers attended zoo education programs including weekday zoo school, summer zoo camp, zoo careers camp, home school days, overnights, birthday parties, teacher workshops and more. Over 100,000 students and chaperones came to the zoo on organized field trips. The animal outreach program reached 75,000 individuals in schools and organizations with its live animal presentations.
membership activities: the zoo has more than 36,000 members, who receive exclusive membership privileges including admission to the zoo, free parking, gift shop discounts, and annual subscription to roar magazine, priority registration for zoo education programs, and invitations to exhibit openings and special members-only events.
