I fostered a litter of puppies with this rescue! They were kind, used great communication and 100% did it for the dogs. I can’t wait to continue with this rescue. They have big hearts. Each one of the puppies got amazing homes that we went and checked out before handing the pups over. It’s so great to know the animals you have a little piece of your heart too while fostering have found their forevers.
Really sad about how down hill this rescue has gone. Seems amazing from the outside, but the president and founder pressures volunteers to overwork and leaves people feeling guilty for not doing more. She's burnt out so many amazing fosters and volunteers that were just in it for the dogs.
If the justification for every overstep, rude comment is she has good intentions, it's not a good rescue. If you're choosing to give time, recommend looking elsewhere.
Love this rescue and the people who run it. They are kind to those adopting as they are to the animals in their organization - and this means so much! We have the best puppy from them, and will return the next time we are looking for a new pet.
I was searching for a non-aggressive animal, and they took the time to listen to my concerns, and match me with the best dog! She's the sweetest. Everyone we interacted with was kind. You can tell they love what they do. Thanks Allie's Haven!
I've adopted 4 dogs from Allie's Haven. They are absolutely amazing. They provide a full bio of each dog, with all the details you need to know when you're looking to adopt --- how they are with kids and other animals, whether they should be an "only dog", what training they have, their personality, how much exercise they'll need, and any history they know. And you can count on what they tell you. They truly love the dogs and want them to have the very best homes.
I adopted 3 dogs from Allie’s Haven Animal Rescue over the past few years. This organization is very professional, and organized. The foster parents were very informative and the dogs were so well cared for by the time we met them to adopt.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are and how much they love the dogs they rescue.
We have nothing but great things to say about Allie’s Haven. The volunteers that we interacted with just truly loved and cared for these dogs. We met two dogs, the first, which wouldn’t work out for us because she was a bit aggressive with our current dog, and another, who made herself our dog’s best friend. We are absolutely in love with our Jazzy (foster name Karma, we renamed her Jasmine) and she is the sweetest and loving big girl ever. She has been so gentle natured with our 11 lb shihpoo, and within a couple of days, they were already inseparable. We couldn’t be more happy with this adoption. Thank you Allies’s Haven!
No animal is left behind. Old, young, sick, healthy, hospice, they all find a place here. Volunteers make it work. We’ve fostered for Allie’s Haven for almost 4 years and I cannot think of another non-profit that works better. The people make the village that welcomes the animals.
We adopted our sweet senior Riley from Allies Haven in 2018 after fostering her for over 9 months we knew she was home. Allies Haven went above and beyond to get this sweet girl healthy and she is just the best dog!
I am currently the Foster Coordinator for Allie's Haven. Allie's Haven is a small but mighty rescue that truly cares for their animals! We take in medical needs, seniors, puppies, kittens, all types of animals from all types of backgrounds. All of our teammates are volunteers so all donations go directly back to the animals! A foster based rescue that tries their best to save lives and connect animals with their forever families!
Allie’s Haven is an amazing and loving organization! They save so many fur babies from neglect and horrible situations! My family has been involved for many years. Our children love to ask their friends for donations “for the animals that don’t have homes yet”, at their birthday parties instead of gifts for themselves. The values and efforts that Allie’s displays for the love of animals, has passed on to my children and is a true blessing!
I adopted Romeo aka Freedom from Allies 4 years ago. They rescued him from a situation that was beyond belief. His back was burned raw and he was literally about to be shot by the owner. They healed him and socialized him and we are so happy together. He keeps me laughing and active and I couldn't imagine life without him! They do a heartfelt wonderful job of giving dogs a chance at a great life.
Amazing Rescue! They placed my dog Marshall with me and he has been a real blessing. The process was fairly easy, well thought out and everyone was helpful. Can’t imagine going with any other rescue and will use them again in the future.
Allie’s Have Animal Rescue has saved the lives of countless dogs and puppies in the rgv and all around Texas. The transformations are amazing. They spare no expense, but need fosters and funds to continue their mission of giving dogs, and now cats and kittens, a chance at living the dream.
That’s one of five that were suffering and saved by Allie’s Haven. Look at that transformation ❤️
Allie’s Haven leaves no dog behind. Regardless of the circumstances or medical needs, this group jumps into action. Old dogs, young dogs, hospice dogs, all are treated as one. Dogs are moved into living foster homes and are adopted from there.
I saw an image of a stray pup infested with layers of ticks, emaciated and near death. Allie’s Haven Animal Rescue grabbed her and got her the help she needed to survive. I decided right then that I wanted to foster for them and foster that pup. She was a complete foster fail and is now a healthy and spoiled almost 3 year old. She joined the pack of 2 other rescues, one of which was another Allie’s Haven alumnus saved from a highway.
I can’t say enough about this organization taking in the hard cases, the unwanted pup/pregnancy cases, saving strays from certain death in horrible South Texas, helping with owner surrenders due to financial hardships, the medical cases, the hospice fosters, and the list goes on.
I can’t recommend them enough for adoption, fostering, volunteering and simply being empathetic and advocating for all of the pups who cannot speak for themselves.

Went to look at a lab the first time I heard of this rescue and went home with a terrified rescued street dog who is now in my lap. (Fail #1) Then I began volunteering for Allie’s. I fostered another street dog who was on death’s door. She is now a super healthy, VERY spoiled swimming lab. (Foster fail - #2). I recently grabbed another foster who had nowhere to go after her spay. Anyone wanna guess how this will turn out?? I LOVE this rescue. Every person involved from rescue to foster to volunteer of any kind are just spectacular. They love these babies and find just the right fit. All pups from all different backgrounds with issues or without. All loved just the same. ❤️❤️
I was introduced to Allies by a friend who was determined I needed a puppy. I have never seen any dog and not fallen in love. Sherri (and Emily) were so great when I just couldn’t commit because of many reasons at the time. They welcomed me to events and answered questions for me every time I was curious about a dog. I donated when I could.
Then the same friend started sending messages about a really adorable black dog that ‘needed’ me. Her name was Susie Q. She was very shy with people but loved other dogs, I have another dog that had the same issues. Susie had gone to a couple of homes but had been returned for various reasons, once after one night. Sherri was concerned that she would be with them forever. So I agreed to come see her at a meet & greet. I held her in my lap and loved on her for probably an hour, she never looked at me and trembled most of the time. Several days later, she came to my house. She hid for a few hours after Sherri left. I have to admit, her watching Sherri leave broke my heart and made me doubt my decision. Within a couple of days she was following the other dogs out in the yard, sometimes she would sit by me or just not run when I walked in the room. Small steps. She’s a different dog now. Very loving to me, loves her brother and sister. LOVES doggie dogcare, has carved out ‘her’ spot on the bed. I think she’s happy, but my friend was wrong, I needed her. All the credit goes to Sherri and Allies for their care, patience and never giving up the search for a home. I will always be thankful and recommend them to every one I know.
I adopted 2 senior dogs from Allies Haven. Sweetest dogs on the planet. Allies Haven took them to meet and greets and protected them for more than a year, patiently waiting for the right person to come and adopt them. I love Allies Haven. They brought the dogs to my house to see how they would adapt. They checked every detail to ensure the dogs would have the best possible home. And they supported me and cheered me on for making the adoption. As well, I follow several other rescues who simply ask for money multiple times a day, posting sad pictures. Allies Haven shares stories and pictures of dogs and asks for people to get involved, instead of just asking for money, money, money. I think they do it the right way!
I've adopted two lab mixes from Allie's Haven. Both came to me thoroughly vetted, and cared for dearly by their foster parents. Robin Hamilton is AMAZING--she pours every resource she has into rescue these dogs, and I'm forever grateful that she brought Bene and Bobcat into our lives.
I love Allie’s Haven! I fully trust this organization to find loving homes for the animals I have fostered. Allie’s Haven found homes for Laverne and Shirley. Months after they got adopted I still got pictures and updates of the two pups.
My dog was neither unwanted nor abandoned but life happens and we had to move to a different state in not so good conditions for my dog. Allies Haven was able to find the best furever home for my boy in a different state where the climate was more suitable for him in a loving home. Not only that but they made it possible to where I can go and visit my precious boy every 4-5 months! I am forever grateful to you, Allies Haven!
We started fostering with Allie’s Haven with Rosie and Raven, then moved on to Zoey (pictures below, before and after). Then came Kingsley and now Hattie. Allie’s Haven did whatever was necessary to get these dogs healthy and get them adopted into good homes. We’ve never had resistance when we needed medical for the dogs. The adoption process is as easy as it comes. Best of all, someone will ALWAYS answer you when you need them. A1 organization!
We got our 'boy' from Allie's a couple of years ago. We saw his picture and the story of how he was rescued on his last day down in a shelter in South Texas. Allies was able to get transport of him, up here to the DFW area. From there, he was taken into an amazing foster family who got him socialized with other dogs, while training him on his first few commands. We fell in love with him and Allies on the same day. From that moment, we have followed their group and have watched them make some amazing rescues and transformations. Thank you Allies Haven for all of your work, and for this beautiful blessing!!
I lost my husband of nearly 38 years on July 24, 2017 to cancer, and then lost my precious 12 year old Chocolate Lab Maddie very unexpectedly to heart issues on October 12, 2017. To say I was lost, is an understatement. Allie's Animal Haven came into my life in January, 2018, and then on February 1, 2018, they gave me hope and brought me happiness again when I adopted sweet Reba! This beautiful girl came to me already housebroken, trained, healthy, and a little bit spoiled! That's ok though, I've enjoyed spoiling her even more because she deserves it! I've learned the importance of adoption and giving these wonderful, deserving animals a second chance at life with a deserving family. I joked with my family and friends that the adoption process was almost like adopting a human, because the vetting was very detailed and thorough. I had to give a complete, detailed history of my prior pets, my Veterinarian was contacted to make sure I was a responsible pet owner, and my home and back yard were inspected to insure a safe environment for "Reba". Allie's isn't just interested in finding "A Home" for their rescues, they insist on finding the BEST HOME for these deserving animals. Not everyone gets approved, and I'm sure that's caused hard feelings, but again, it's about matching these sweet animals with homes and owners that are better equipped to give them the best life possible, for their entire life. I'm extremely grateful for the amazing staff of volunteers who work tirelessly to rescue, rehab, and rehome these beautiful, loving creatures who deserve far better than what they've been forced to endure.
I can not say enough great things about Allie’s Haven. Just about a year ago I picked up a small pup that Allie’s Haven had pulled/saved from a high kill shelter. He was 3 months old and weighed 6 lbs. When I met transport I could tell he was not feeling well. Robin with Allie’s Haven was so helpful and they were so supportive and encouraged me to get him to the vet right away. Over the next few weeks we watched him closely for distemper, again communication and support for Chance, now Wesley, was their top priority. Thankfully he recovered and when it came time for him to be adopted they were very supportive of me being a foster fail. Today Wesley is super healthy and spoiled, without Allie’s Haven he never would have stood a chance. They don’t shy away from the hard cases, they always step up and do what they can for dogs in need. I am so thankful for all they do and for my best friend, Wesley!
I cannot tell you the wonderful work this organization does. My two dogs were abandoned, one horribly abused, and they pulled them and sent them to a wonderful foster home with Shelli and Chris. My first dog since I was 10 arrived 1 year ago...Hank. He was tied up at a boarding facility and after a year with no one claiming him and him shutting down, they called Allies Haven and they came and got him. He was returned 3 times and considered unadoptable due to his biting a male owner who they think raised his voice to this man's wife. He remained at his foster home for over 1.5 years, until I saw him and called them. I am a cat owner with 3 cats. I met Hank and asked for him to come to the house. The day he came he never left. He is a mother hen to all the cats and is so protective of them. Six months after arriving, I thought he needed a companion, and went back to the foster home where they had my Maude. She was terrified of other dogs and humans, but she saw Hank and the pair was formed. They had to carry Maude in to the house where she shook violently until she saw Hank. She has never left. Maude is the fawn colored dog and Hank is the black and white dog. I have watched and attended many functions and see the care and love that this organization gives to the animals, the gentleness of them with the most vulnerable, and I would love for them to be recognized for all their efforts.
