Mission: FORGOTTEN CHILDREN was founded in 1994 by Mrs. Francoise Remington after she personally witnessed children working in factories in India. It is our belief that every child has a right to enjoy childhood as well as to learn to read and to write and that exploitive child labor should be eradicated. We do not have paid staff; instead we rely on the expertise of local volunteers and networks of grassroots NGOs in India and Haiti. We financially support small projects that are implemented by local community leaders who believe in self-help and respect the rights of children. Forgotten Children supports basic education and micro-credit projects that will nurture economic independence with dignity to their beneficiaries while respecting their religious beliefs and cultural traditions.
