Mission: To organize and mobilize the millions of americans in long term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction, their families, friends and allies to speak with one voice; change public perception of recovery; promoting effective public policy and demonstrating success in recovery.
Programs: Faces & voices of recovery supports all pathways to recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs by conducting public education and awareness campaigns and research into recovery.
faces & voices hosts educational and informational trainings and other activities; facilitating relationships among local and regional recovery organizations and provides a national forum for discussion. Faces & voices created the first ever "recovery bill of rights", a declaration stating that all americans have a right to be free from addiction and to build new lives and organizes walks and rallies as part of national alcohol and drug addiction recovery month.
faces & voices of recovery produces a bi-monthly e-newsletter and training dvds on the science of addiction and recovery and other topics. They have developed and maintain a multi-faceted one-step recovery web-site with information for citizens, families and those in long term recovery on how to get involved in their communities.
