Mission: The ethiopian sports fedration in north america (esfna) founded in 1984 is non- profit organization dedicated to promote the rich ethiopian culture and heritage as well as build postive environment within ethiopian - american communities in north america. Its mission is bringing ethiopians together to net work. Supporting the business community, empowering the young by providing scholarships and mentoring programs. Primarily using soccer tournaments, other sport activitites and cultural events as a vechile.

each year, esfna invites individuals that have excelled in sports in ethiopia in the past. From soccer players to long distance runners that have made the country a proud nation. Esfna also honor ethiopians in the social and art fields. If it were not for esfna invitaion, most of these heroes would not have had the oppurunity to visit america. Lately esfna begun honoring inviduals who have played a siginficant role during the early years of esfna who happen to reside in usa.
