Mission: The culinary trust gives culinary professionals the tools and opportunites to understand and act on critical issues in the world of food. The mission is fulfilled through educational programs, grants for hunger alleviation, culinary history preservation and, most notably, scholarships, internships, and grants for students and professionals.
Programs: Scholarships, grants and professional development program: as the philanthropic partner of the international association of culinary professionals, co-founded by the late julia child in 1984, the culinary trust has awarded nearly $1,500,000 through its scholarship program, assisting more than 500 talented individuals from all over the world in their pursuit of culinary knowledge and education. Each year, the culinary trust partners with a variety of culinary schools (based on donor commitment and roster changes year to year)and nonprofits focusing on youth nutrition education and hunger relief to offer scholarships and professional develoment internships. Also, the culinary trust and the boston foundation both offer an independent study grant to a culinary professional doing research and writing. All scholarships, grants and professional development opportunities are application based and are open to anyone who meets the qualifying criteria; the awardees are selected through a rigorous evaluation process by a team dedicated to application review.
