Mission: The council for relationships' mission is to help people understand, respect, and improve the quality of the important relationships in their lives by providing unsurpassed clinical care, clinical education and training, and behavioral health research.
Programs: Council for relationships provides counseling services forindividuals, couples, and families at 10 offices and multiplecommunity-based locations throughout greater philadelphia. More than33,000 hours of services are provided by 65 full- and part-time staffand 50 interns annually. Staff are trained in a variety of disciplinesand include therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed socialworkers, clergy, and other mental health professionals. Fees areassessed on a sliding fee scale so that all seeking treatment canbe served, regardless of ability to pay.
cfr offers graduate clinical education programs in order to train the next generation of therapists. The couple and family therapy programs are accredited by the american assn. Of marriage and family therapy. There is a post-graduate certificate program that includes a clergy track, as well as a sex therapy certificate program (accredited by the american assn. Of sexuality educators, counselors, and therapists). The master's degree program operates within thomas jefferson university's college of health professions. The faculty and clinical supervisors for the program are cfr staff and student clinical placements are within council for relationship locations. The master's program also offers a sex therapy track and has a specialized focus on meeting the mental health needs of vulnerable populations.
