Mission: The Community Theatre Internationale is dedicated to creating inclusive community among diverse peoples through local and global grassroots participation in performance art. Our mission is to cultivate performatory dialogues between people across the boundaries of social identity and experience race, ethnicity, age, class, nationality, lifestyle, gender and language. The activity of performing together invites participants to step outside their pre-determined social roles. Previously unforeseen possibilities begin to emerge, including the opportunity to shape a new kind of community one that is continuously invented and inclusive. With the availability of video, Internet and other communications technology, ordinary people from around the globe can gather to make theatre and art. Boundaries that divide are transformed into opportunities for beauty and surprise. Speaking the language of improvisation, we perform grassroots global conversations with no opening or closing nights.
