Mission: The Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia was founded in 1998 to enhance the quality of life in this region for both present and future generations. It is a conduit through which donors can turn their charitable gifts into lasting legacies for the organizations and causes they care about most.
The foundation''s goal is to increase philanthropy in the region and to build a permanent pool of charitable resources for the communities in Northwest Georgia. The Foundation will invest and manage those resources, preserving capital and dispersing income in grants to organizations that serve the throughout the region.
At the Community Foundation, we think in terms of generations.
Programs: The Community Foundation makes grants from Donor-Advised Funds based primarily on recommendations from the donors. In addition, we have a Community Grants Program, in which the Foundation awards grants in the range of $500 to 5,000 from unrestricted funds. Applications for the Community Grant Programs are available to qualified non-profit organizations from the northwest Georgia region.
