I too clicked from the post asking for a review from Facebook and I eagerly anticipate writing this. Providence changed my life. I am a veteran and returned home from Iraq with nothing but trauma and issues. I lived on the streets for over 2 years and almost overdosed to death several times. Providence had a place for me and helped me. I am forever thankful!
I am now a home owner and working my way through tech school as I am also a bus mechanic for the local school system. Providence had a leader there that worked with quite a few organizations and got me into housing and got me a grant to help me on my feet. Great organization!
I am glad that I clicked on the Facebook post to offer a review of Providence Ministries.
This place saved our daughter's life. She is now finished with college and working in the DA's office in our town as a prosecutor.
But a few years ago we did not see this as even possible. After 7 different rehabs and thousands upon thousands of dollars spent we sent our daughter to the Providence Women's Recovery. Before we found Providence it had got so bad that our daughter had overdosed 6 times and was prostituting herself out for drugs.
The organization is Christ centered and very professional. We could not get the same service out of a rehab we were spending $2500 a week for.
Providence saved our daughters life and we are forever grateful!
I am writing to show my support for Providence Ministries. I am a supporter, a volunteer, and former board member. This organization is doing what it is supposed to do and beyond. Providence Ministries continues to be a great benefit to the community, and I am writing this to express my full support. I have worked closely with Providence Ministries for many years and feel confident in expressing my full support for this organization.
It is with absolute confidence that I recommend Providence Ministries. Providence Ministries provides services to the area communities that are priceless. The leadership and staff of this organization are really second to none.
I never knew how much this organization did! I came and volunteered just to help in the kitchen and my first day volunteering I was just blown away.
Providence Ministries gave out food to people in need and fed them a hot meal at the same time. But now just any kind of meal, they serve big meals!
Then they are getting homeless people off the streets and helping those with drug and alcohol addiction too. This place is amazing. Been volunteering here over a year now!
This is a special place. The organization has or used to have a leader there named JJ Lewis, they called him JJ or Jeff.
He used to come an speak about the community in our board meetings. This guy is awesome. Eventually he led me to the Lord Jesus Christ, right there in the boardroom. A few months later our son was deep into drugs, I called JJ at 2 in the morning and he went and got our son and got him into the recovery center at Providence. At 2am!!! Our son is clean and sober now and has finished his degree and is an executive in Atlanta now. This is a real place with real people who go out of their way to help people.
This organization is a God-send!
If you are going to send money to anything, check this organization out!!
Providence Ministries saves lives and families!!!
I can from prison in 2013 didnt have anywhere to go i had burnt my relationship with my brothers so igot a bed in the shelter started learning that they was someone that would help me and His name was Jesus Christ i am still at providence today not because i have to be but because i am surrounded by good godly people.
If your going to donate money $$$$ anywhere then donate it to providence Ministries. This organization does more in our area than all of the other organizations and churches combined. Lives get transformed at Providence and I think Providence is transforming the community.
Our son was strung out on drugs really bad when he went to Providence. Providence's recovery program for men has been touched by the hand of God. That was 4 years ago. Now our son has graduated college and is working through law school so he can help others. Thank God for Providence!
We have a family of 5. My husband went to prison and I had nowhere to go and no money. Providence took me and all my kids in. Not only that, Providence help me to find a job and then worked with another agency and was able to get me into our own housing. Today I am working, taking care of my kids, and thankful! If it was not for Providence we would still be on the streets!
This organization is amazing! Our house burned down and they gave us food and shelter. Then they worked with other organizations and got us into an apartment and then they gave us the furniture and stuff we needed for everyday living. Thank God for this place!
I am grateful for Providence Ministries - a ministry that originated in NW Georgia that extends compassion and grace to individuals and families who are struggling. A son's addiction led me to this ministry. The people I have met over the years who administer and lead the programs understand the means of grace and offer it to others. Shelter, food, addiction counseling, daily work to support the ministry for participants, assistance with finding a job and worship throughout the week allow people to be transformed, made whole, and motivated to leave the programs/shelters and "pay it forward". What I have experienced at "Providence" is the very heart, hands, and feet of Jesus. Providence offers a spiritual environment that is heart warming, motivating and affirming. This is a ministry worthy of your support.....financially, through donations, and through your service.
Providence Ministries saved our lives! As a single mother with 3 children I found myself homeless and making one bad choice after another. Providence took me in, gave me love, fed me, gave me a place to sleep instead of being on the streets, and helped me not only get back on my feet but also helped me find a job and regain custody of my kids. Providence is a place that gives direction. Providence is awesome!
My son suffered with addiction, depression, and anxiety for 6 years . He completed 3-4 inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs only to relapse once in sober living or upon returning home. He was on an academic scholarship to a selective college, was an Eagle Scout, and raised in a Christian home but none of these things mattered to him until he discovered Providence Ministries and Our Master's Camp. He is now clean and sober, healthy and following a Christ based journey. He is working and hopes to complete his college degree and is devoted to helping others. He had no money and no insurance and without Providence Ministries he would be a homeless young man seeking drugs to self medicate. We are so thankful. Sincerely, Phyllis, Richard, and Kevin
After receiving addiction rehab, unsuccessfully, at several other facilities, our family truly received an answer to prayer when my daughter was admitted to Providence. I can never express how excellent, grounded & loving the treatment & accountability assistance she recieved at Providence! I can not sing their praises nor thank them enough for accomplishing the breakthrough in her life which she needed so badly! God bless you, Providence, & everyone who is blessed to arrive at your doors!
Providence Ministries provides a valued service to the residents of the Dalton area. It is impressive, by itself, with just the number of meals they serve! Although I am not a regular volunteer, I have enjoyed the times that I have spent there serving. Keep up the good work!
