Causes: Arts & Culture, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness, Dance, Music
Mission: Colorado Friends of Cajun/Zydeco Music and Dance, a SCFD Tier III organization and member of the Village Arts Coalition, was launched in January 1998 as a nonprofit group whose mission it is to promote the music, dance and culture of southwest Louisiana along the Front Range. The organization has been sponsoring monthly dances at the Mercury Cafi and local grange halls while seeking to bring Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco bands to Colorado. Along with providing musical and cultural information in its publication Et Toi!, CFCZ has also coordinated a dance excursion to Louisiana and regular dance lessons in the Denver and Boulder area.
