Mission: The foundation provides assistance to colorado farmers and ranchers following major natural disasters in colorado. Furthermore, the foundation provides funding for education programs within colorado farm bureau and rural communities.
Programs: The purposes for which the colorado farm bureau foundation isorganized is for scientific research, educational and othercharitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of theinternal revenue code of 1986, as amended (referred to as the"code"), including, but not limited to the following. Specifically, the colorado farm bureau foundation hopes toinitiate and finance the following activities: (see schedule o)1. ) agricultural research and educational activities in such areasas production and marketing, quality and yield improvement,mechanization, farm safety, conservation and natural resources,improvement or better use of fertilizers, insecticides andherbicides, and ways and means of increasing net (see schedule o)farm income. 2. ) to encourage and maintain a viable and progressiveagricultural industry, to encourage on-the-farm use of applicationof basic research discoveries, to promote and finance the study ofagriculture and research therein, the diffusion of knowledgethereof and the continuing education of farmers and ranchers. 3. ) to initiate and finance programs and activities that informthe public about the scope, diversity and importance of theagriculture industry through education curriculum, teachertraining workshops, exhibits at various events, and other relatedactivities. 4. ) to provide aid to individuals involved in productionagriculture in the event of a catastrophic disaster impactingagricultural producers due to a natural event such as blizzard,flood or wildfire.
