Mission: To better sustain, coordinate, and improve local planning, development, and community services that address the needs of low-income residents and small businesses in south los angeles.
Programs: Youth workforce development - south los angeles youthbuild program designed to provide basic skills education toward completion of a high school diploma/ged, while engaging young people in the construction of low-income housing. Youthbuild serves 30 low-income young people between the ages of 18-24 per year. Vernon-central workforce development network, a collaborative of 4 nonprofit tacking youth unemployment in the vernon-central neighborhood of south la. The network serves 60 young people between the ages of 17-25 who are motivated to earn a living and improve the community. Summer jobs program - employs 135 low-income young people in vernon-central as part of the summer youth program funded by the city of los angeles. Young people learn employment readiness skills and work part time over the summer at a variety of nonprofit and government worksites.
neighborhood revitalization - south los angeles beautification team responsible for graffiti removal, bulky trash pick-up and central avenue street maintenance. The organization is responsible for removing over 6 million square feet of graffiti annually, collecting over 1,200 tons of bulky items from streets and alleys; collecting and disposing of trash; and business corridor maintenance including high-tech sweeping, scrubbing, steam-cleaning, and pressure washing to remove grime from public sidewalks, clean up weeds and tree wells and empty public trash receptacles.
supportive services - coordinates the delivery of services to residents in our permanent supportive housing developments and the greater community.
