Mission: At civic hall labs, we collaboratively design and develop technology pilots that have measurable impact and the potential to scale. We believe that 21st century digital tools have tremendous potential to advance the public good when designed, developed, and implemented through inclusive processes that allow sector experts, the public, government, and philanthropy to collaborate with data scientists, designers, and developers. Currently, our work is organized into three core programs: issue-focused labs, civicxcel, and open infrastructure.
Programs: The open infrastructure program powers the labs and supports others in applying technology for the public good. Each project is dedicated to providing sustainable, scalable tools that increases cross-sector collaboration, public participation, and data collection and sharing. Projects in this program include motherboard project, civic usability testing network, and pro bono tech.
