Causes: Arts & Culture, Bands & Ensembles, Performing Arts, Singing & Choral Groups
Mission: The Christian Foundation for the Performing Arts is a not-for-profit corporation that was founded with the intention of giving something back to the community we live in through music and dramatic arts presentations. We have grown in the past 15 years from a small choral group to a few diverse groups under the umbrella of the corporation. We have a choral group made up of 120 singers from 11 different denominations and an orchestra of 25 from the Buffalo Philharmonic. We hire other musicians to play before, during and after the performances of the Festival Chorus. This large choral group has 3 major concerts a year: Glory of Christmas, a Sacred concert, and American Celebration. We have smaller vocal ensembles that perform in local churches and public functions. We have performed for the US military, accompanied Keith Greene, and sung with the American Legion Band of Tonawanda. In the future we hope to sponsor events in the City of Buffalo that will allow us to participate with a number of local groups and talented musicians as a "Music Fest". Another venue we are attempting to do includes Christian Musical Theatre. We are always looking for new and different ways we can serve the community.
