On #GivingTuesday I supported the Chicago Artists Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to providing vital support and education to emerging artists, curators, educators, patrons and creative thinkers.
This picture was taken at my first exhibition opening when I started interning at CAC, which was during a very low point in my life after moving to Chicago. After feeling constantly rejected by the city, I finally found a place that made me feel essential with the work I put in. Not only was I welcomed as a fellow team member with the staff, but I am treated as a real professional in the time I've been there. I can confidently say that I've found success, and it wouldn't have been possible without their guidance. If this is the impact they had on me, think of the good they can do for our arts community! They are true advocates to advancing the careers of working artists in Chicago.
