historic preservation - ccoha's preservation efforts play a major role in preserving the distinctive heritage of the central city/black hawk national landmark historic district. The ccoha owns and maintains the opera house and 31 victorian-era properties, which provide vital support facilities and housing each year for the summer festival artists and staff.
education and community programs - these activities bring opera to a variety of audiences throughout colorado and neighboring states. Each year, central city opera educational programs reach more than 88,000 children and adults. Special performances, workshops, tours, and other programs are tailored to meet the needs of diverse audiences from all communities.
bonfils-stanton foundation artist training program - this apprenticeship program provides career training and performance opportunities for exceptional young opera singers. Each year 30 participants are selected from nearly 1,000 applicants. This nationally recognized program is among the most notable of its kind in the united states.
