Mission: The mission of the center for religious humanism (crh) is to explore the relationship between judeo-christian tradition and contemporary art and literature. The crh publishes a quarterly journal, "image", and runs workshops, conferences and art events.
Programs: We believe that one of our chief responsibilities is to foster the growth of emerging artists of all ages. Our efforts to that effect include a workshop-style conference from july 31st - august 7th, 2016 offering art courses, lectures, readings, & concerts with 163 attendees. It also includes sponsorship of 6 seattle-based events in 2016, including readings and concerts, with audiences between 30-100 in number. Finally, this includes the milton fellowship program, which brings one promising writer to seattle each year and supports them in the creation of their first book-length work.
the literary quarterly journal, image, is the cornerstone of the center for religious humanism. With a circulation of 2,700 to 3,100 per issue, image demonstrates the continued vitality and diversity of contemporary art and literature that engage with the religious traditions of western culture. The journal forms the nexus of a warm and active community.
