Mission: Cheeers' mission is to empower individuals and families affected by behavioral health conditions to achieve a healthy and meaningful life through the use of recovery-based community services and our shared experiences.
Programs: 514 unique individuals received services in our program. An average of 278 unique individuals received services on a monthly basis. Program accomplishments for the year included expansion of our campus to include an exercise room for our participants. This was in support of programming, and overall goals, which aim to improve the health and wellness of those who receive services in our program. We also doubled the number of one-to-one interactions with our participants from the previous year. 92% of individuals receiving one-to-one sessions reported that this type of assistance is very helpful. Cheeers participated in a comprehensive programming evaluation and outcome study this year with arizona state university center for applied behavioral health policy. Outcomes after four quarters of data collection indicate that employment rates of our participants increased by 12%, and the 12% reported improved health and wellness. Other improvement areas for our participants included: increased levels of engagement in activities, increased number of individuals reporting that they have sufficient resources to live, and increased number of participants indicating they had increased their physical activity. Finally, the study demonstrated that those receiving services at cheeers had a 3% decrease in the use of crisis services and a 4% decrease in hospitalizations.
