Mission: To inspire conservation of the world's aquatic treasures.
Programs: The center for aquatic life and conservation, inc. Holds, maintains, and develops real property - including a public park - to benefit the national aquarium, inc. (na) and its affiliated organizations. The center for aquatic life and conservation park at west covington supports the national aquarium's mission to increase awareness about the impact that our actions have on plant and animal communities in the chesapeake watershed. With environmental remediation complete, park construction began in april 2012 and was completed in 2014. The 12. 2-acre brownfield site was transformed into a conservation demonstration park, featuring habitats for migratory birds and native insect populations, a recreational pier, and a network of trails. The site design embraces sustainable strategies for storm water, remediation of brownfield conditions, and restoration of habitat.
