Mission: To provide professionally trained and certified psychiatric service dogs, handler training, support and therapeutic group camaraderie to veteran men and women struggling with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury as a result of their service to our country and restore their physical and emotional independence. Honor fallen loved ones by naming service dogs after those sacrificed defending our country. A healing mission to acquire and train dogs, serve soldiers and honor heroes.
Programs: During 2016, of the 17 dogs in the program, 9 were assigned, 1 was certified, 2 are therapy dogs and the 14 service dogs are still in training. The 9 veterans are a diverse group (6 male, 3 female). One vietnam, one air force (a gold star sister), a marine master guns (anglco) with 10 combat tours, a marine eod staff sergeant with 2 combat tours, a navy intelligence specialist, 3 are army 101st and 82 airborne, and a cwo4 with multiple combat tours. All are service connected disabled veterans with distinguished service to our nation. All veterans and dogs have met.
