High Point Nonprofits and Charities

As an artist who has participated in their annual art auction gala I can tell you that the staff is great, helpful and friendly. They do great work with talented student artists from local schools as well and their workshop for those who want to learn more about art are excellent.

I have known of and collaborated with Mental Health Associates of the Triad for over 15 years. As a police officer, I have often referred individuals in crisis to their services for treatment of mental health and substance abuse. As the police department's Court Liaison, I formed relationships with their clinicians who came into the jails to perform assessments and determine competency for the court system. As a citizen of High Point, I have seen the tremendous work they have done in our community through programs such as Destiny's House (a psychosocial rehabilitation program). During times of tragedy that have affected the first responder community, their clinicians have reached out to our officers and staff to help ensure the wellness of our first responder community, and that has helped forge trusting and enduring relationships. Their current Clinical Director is well-known throughout the first responder community for her years of service as the Crisis Intervention Training Coordinator for our region. Our first responders know they can call on her when they are trying to help an individual in crisis, and she stands ready to provide resources and point them in the right direction. Under their new leadership, Mental Health Associates of the Triad has shown that they are forward-thinking and eager to collaborate with other area resources to provide the most comprehensive and convenient care possible. For example, they have recently partnered with the High Point Public Library to provide a Peer Navigator who works out of the library. The Navigator provides peer support services to library patrons in need of assistance with mental health, substance abuse, housing, etc. This has already been a tremendous success. After seeing their positive impact on our community first-hand, I was honored to be invited to become a member of their board where I have developed an even deeper appreciation for Mental Health Associates of the Triad and the committed group of individuals who serve in leadership/board/support/volunteer roles to keep this important nonprofit running and moving forward in pursuit of wellness for our community.

Divine Drops is an organization that truly works for menstrual health and access to education. Being part of a volunteer project with them is contributing in a simple, but invaluable way, to improving the quality of life of many girls and women. <br>There are many ways you can contribute to the mission, you can be staff on their workshops and classes, participate in an event, give in-kind donations and of course, become a financial partner.

I first became involved with Triad Ladder of Hope through its founder Sandra Johnson in January of 2020. As we all know, the covid pandemic arrived and we almost closed our doors for good. In the summer of 2021 Brianna Racchini, graduated from Liberty University with her undergraduate degree in social work. She accepted our call on faith and she and her husband arrived in late August for what began as a part time job, that soon turned into a half time position and in March of 2022 it became a full time position. <br><br>Brianna continues to make this ministry known through her client contacts, community contacts as she is rebuilding this vital ministry at a time when it is so greatly needed. Whether you are part of a church or a private citizen looking to make a difference this is your opportunity to volunteer your time and support. This organization and its volunteers have such a huge passion for water safety and it shows. Whether it’s them doing community outreach, or fundraising this organization is doing great things for the community!

Girl who was giving out food at the pantry first ignored me at the front door. She saw me and closed the door on me without greeting me. I then went to the side door and I asked a man for help he told me to knock and the girl came and killed asked if I could sign up for food. She told me they don't start until 11:00 when I told her it was past that time she seems to be put out to her duties. She was short with me and not at all interested in helping me.For an organization like yours maybe she could be better used elsewhere. She is not a people person . I hope you look interesting her.<br>.

popularity contest. This organization hardly helps any animals, and their favorite thing to do was post pictures of them in pretty dresses dragging their dog around.

I highly recommend Hopscotch Adoptions! This organization is filled with very professional individuals who care about you as a person, the child being adopted, and the entire process. I experienced efficient follow up, guidance on 'next steps', concern for the things I was concerned about, and continue to have a relationship with them - my adoption was completed in May 2011. <br>Cannot say enough positive things about this non-profit! If you are considering adoption, absolutely look into this organization - you will be so grateful!

Thus far this non-profit has never EVER given an accounting of tax monies spent. We have waited for two years for some kind of accounting, and we have been given nothing. Is this even legal? For SURE I would NOT give this organization one red cent unless or until they decide to tell the taxpayers how our money was spent.

I have worked with HPCT and Jennifer Blevins for the past 9 years and have enjoyed every aspect of it. Jennifer's knowledge, skill, and love for theatre and the lives that are touched by it is what makes HPCT stand apart. I don't see a lot of the "diva" mentality that can sometimes come with community shows when the regulars step in. It is a wonderful family atmosphere, and I consider the people I've met through HPCT to be my dearest and closest friends. As executive director for HPCT, Jennifer has created a wonderful and truly skilled creative staff around her. Michael Dougherty and Bobby Bodford are great musical and show directors respectively and bring out more in each person than they thought they had. HPCT is truly a wonderul non-profit and a huge assett to our community.
