Mission: The mission is to promote the redevelopment and revitalization of certain areas of the city of new york, provide front-end grants to other not-for-profit entities engaged in redevelopment and revitalization plans as well as projects of their own, and to address and improve economic and social problems, encouraging, promoting and sponsoring programs, education activities and cultural exchanges concerning the visual and performing arts for children - principally through a program called "music and the brain" - and to lessen the burden of government in all of these areas.
