Mission: Bosque school is a coeducational college preparatory school whose mission is to prepare young men and women to become lifelong learners with the highest character values and academic goals in a natural new mexico setting with strong family and community involvement.
Programs: Bosque school is a coeducational college preparatory school, accredited by the independent school association of the southwest, teaching in accordance with state law and the guidelines of the national association of independent schools. Bosque school is a student-centered community that offers a dedicated and caring faculty, small classes and an education that recognizes each student as an individual. Bosque school enrolled 492 students for the 2016-2017 school year and in may graduated 64 seniors.
the black institute for environmental studies at bosque school creates opportunities for environmental education by building connections between students, community and the rio grande watershed through research, education and action. The bosque ecosystem monitoring program (bemp) is an important part of the black institute. Bemp performs collaborative long-term ecological monitoring of key abiotic and biotic processes and characteristics to promote continued education, understanding and stewardship of the riparian ecosystem to scientists, teachers, students, policy makers and the public. In the 2016-2017 school year over 10,000 students, teachers and community members from many parts of the state participated in the bemp program.
horizons albuquerque at bosque school began in 2014 and this year supported 112 low-income public school students entering k through 6th grades. A grade level is added each year. Horizons brings the public and private school communities together to offer enrichment programming for at risk children in public schools. The students attend a six-week program in the summer and participate in year round programming designed to enhance academic progress and engagement. The program is designed to offer long- term support to each student from early childhood through high school and beyond. In april 2017, horizons began operations as a separate 501(c)(3) corporation. Bosque school continues to provide use of its campus for horizons programs.
