Native Forward formerly AIGC played a critical role in my education. Through their support and encouragement, I was able to complete my Bachelor's degree. If it had not been for them I know that I would not have been able to attend any school for my degree without them. I could concentrate on my studies so that I was able to do my best. They were there for me for more than monetary reasons. The new letters and the optional workshops were inspiring to say the least. The Scholarship team always looked out for me and my needs, be it questions or occasional check-in to see how I was doing. They are about education 110% and Native Culture even more. I was able to excel past what I thought I could do because of their dedication to all Native persons. I made my Nation proud and my tribe. I would like to think my father is smiling from the stars. I am a stronger, educated Native now because of Native Forward. I am eternally thankful for everything they have helped me with, and I look forward to paying it forward after my educational journey.
Thanks to Native Forward (formerly AIGC), I was able to focus on medical school during one of the most financially critical times of my life. The paucity of indigenous learners in these spaces is unacceptable. Native Forward is helping dismantle these inequities by investing resources back into our learners, and thus, our communities. When starting this journey, I was faced with the grim reality that most graduates leave with enormous amounts of academic debt. Native Forward's aid granted me the flexibility to focus on my studies and pay it forward by pouring more time into our Native Center of Excellence on campus through leadership and mentorship opportunities. Thank you, Native Forward, for empowering countless students *and future Healers* with the support needed to pursue their dreams! Lios em chiokoe.
I cannot overstate how vital Native Forward's support has been to my growth as an Indigenous scholar. As a mother, as a non-traditional student, and as someone who holds dear my relations to my own tribe, community, lands and knowledges, the kind of research I’m doing with my own community calls for deeper relationships and accountabilities that demand an ethic and care not typical to traditional forms of Western science. This ethic and care is central to how we engage and uphold our own knowledges in and outside of academia. It is with Native Forward's support that I am able to practice a more kincentric approach to living/doing/knowing responsibilities to water, land, and community. Their generosity not only nurtures my personal and academic journey but I also feel they support creating conditions that help Indigenous intellectual and scholarship spaces grow. In sum, through their support, they are not just investing in my future and that of my family, but are also a positive force in fostering critical, ethical and community-responsive work that will benefit generations to come.
Native Forward has been a transformative ally in my educational journey, providing essential financial support, mentorship, and resources that have significantly supported my progress. Their scholarships have lifted the financial burden of tuition, allowing me to immerse myself in my studies without the constant worry about how to fund my education.
Without Native Forward's comprehensive assistance and resources, I would have struggled to keep up with my studies because I would have had to take on other side jobs to offset my tuition cost. Their unwavering commitment to empowering students like me has not only enabled me to achieve my goals but has also ignited a passion within me to give back to my community now and in the future. I am deeply grateful for the countless ways they have contributed to my success.
As a fulltime grad student it is hard to find scholarships that are for graduate degrees. As an Indigenous scholar it is important for me to stay in our traditional ways during the research process. From buying honorariums for the knowledge keepers, gathering around food during each interview/discussion, and providing gifts to those visiting our lands can get pricy when you want to honor every person along this journey. Native Forward Scholars Fund saw the importance of my work and providing me the funding to honor the elders in my community and welcome the visitors the traditional way with plenty of food. Without the support from Native Forward Scholars Fund I would not have had the opportunity to expand my pool of participants, gather multiple times and create lasting connections throughout the community. I am forever grateful for the donors that allowed me to continue my work in my tribal nation. Thank you! Sape!
I'm the father of two daughters that have benefitted from Native Forward. Thanks to Native Forward, my daughters opportunities were strengthened and it made goals even that much more attainable. Both of my daughters were accepted to Dartmouth, My youngest elected to attend the University of Central Oklahoma because UCO has the #1 Forensic Science Program in America. As a junior, she maintains a 4.0, serves on the President's Leadership Council and continues to be on the President's List. I contribute her success not to just her hard work but the opportunity to have scholarships like Native Forward to cover her needs so she doesn't get pre-occupied by worrying about payments etc. The same can be said for my oldest who is a senior at Dartmouth. Thanks to scholarship opportunities like Native Forward, she has remained completely focused on her studies. She competed for and was awarded a senior fellowship at Dartmouth complete with an office where she does her research on indigenous health issues. My wife and I cannot extend enough thanks and praise to Native Forward for the opportunities they helped make possible for our daughters. There are so many involved that absolutely go above and beyond. Thanks so much to Michael, Kakiley, Christa and so many more. Thank you Native Forward! Attached is a photo of my youngest visiting Big Sister at Dartmouth on Indigenous day last year.
The Native Forward Scholars Fund is a truly exceptional initiative that goes beyond merely providing financial assistance to students. From my experience, this program stands out for its personalized support and genuine commitment to fostering a sense of community among its participants.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Native Forward is the accessibility of its staff. Unlike many scholarship programs where applicants often feel like just another number in a system, Native Forward ensures that every student has someone to talk to. The staff members are approachable and willing to engage in meaningful conversations about your academic journey. They take the time to understand your individual needs and aspirations, making you feel valued and supported.
What truly sets Native Forward apart is the familial atmosphere it cultivates. The program creates an environment where students feel like they are part of a community rather than just recipients of funding. The staff genuinely care about your success and well-being, often checking in to see how they can assist you further. This level of engagement is rare in today's world, where personalized customer service seems to be dwindling.
The program's dedication to helping students succeed is evident in their proactive approach. They not only answer questions but also actively seek ways to support your academic journey. Whether it's providing resources, offering guidance on navigating challenges, or simply being there to listen, Native Forward demonstrates a commitment to ensuring that you have the tools necessary for success.
The Native Forward Scholars Fund is more than just financial aid; it’s a supportive network that fosters growth and belonging. If you’re looking for a scholarship program that prioritizes personal connections and truly cares about your academic and personal development, I wholeheartedly recommend Native Forward. It’s an experience that will make you feel empowered and connected in ways that are increasingly rare today.
Best, Chad
Native Forward embodies the advancement of indigenous scholars. I've maintained a solid GPA throughout my academic studies and they have supported me. I will be nearing the completion of my doctoral degree in 2025 and there is a huge sense of relief knowing I will be back in the workforce with no financial setbacks due to academic debts; that in itself is very empowering. Thank you Native Forward for exceeding all expectations. You not only fulfilled your commitment, you awarded a Native American male scholar with resources to cross the finish line with a terminal degree. Miigwech.
Exceptional in every way. I wouldn't have gotten far without recently attaining my doctorate with the Native Forward Scholars Fund (formerly American Indian Graduate Center). Ahéhee'.
I heard about numerous Native American scholarships and their benefits. I’ve applied to almost all and had great communication and updates besides AIS and Native Forward. Both stated that decisions for students would be coming out before the start of the semester and now we are three weeks into the semester and there are no updates. I’m beginning to wonder if this is legitimate scholarship?
For those of us that have a great deal of need it would be nice to know where we stand so we can make arrangements for the semester. I qualified for two other scholarships and they were very communicative and paid my school before the beginning of the semester so that was amazing. I did read the reviews below, but I’m just wondering at this point with nobody communicating what is going on????? I also just was skeptical because some of the other reviews and other sites state that they look for their own tribe members or their own family members to give money to. I see they also keep posting on social media for donations and to apply however they haven’t even notified their past applicants. Has anybody experienced this?

Native Forward 12/04/2024
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret that there may have been a lack of communication on our part, and we truly understand how frustrating that can be. Native Forward would be happy to address your concerns about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at scholarships@nativeforward.org so we can discuss your experience in more detail and hopefully answer your questions and concerns. Thank you again for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you.
This organization has changed my life. I am very thankful for the work that Native Forward does for Native students everywhere!
The Native Forward Scholars Fund has been instrumental in my success, providing not just financial support but a network of resources and mentorship. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities it has afforded me and for the ways it has enriched my educational journey, from obtaining my Bachelor's to my Ph.D degree. Native Forward Scholars Fund is an excellent organization of support for Native students, and I highly encourage any Native scholar to take advantage of the resources, support, and mentorship offered by the organization.
To the Native Forward Scholars Fund staff, donors, and mentors, thank you for your continued support in achieving my academic goals!
Native Forward has been instrumental in helping me pursue my educational, professional, and personal goals. Their unwavering commitment to empower students and their belief in our potential has impacted my journey. By investing in student's success, they encourage us to pour back into our communities. Native Forward's dedication surpasses financial assistance; it further fosters inspiration to be the difference and create a lasting impact on the world.
"Our collective story is woven together...We are all part of contributing to that story and with each Native perspective and journey, the next chapter will evolve and grow." - Native Forward
Thank you Native Forward for allowing me to contribute to this story.
Native Forward has been instrumental in my journey as a PhD student in soil science and geology. Their support has been invaluable, and I deeply appreciate their contribution to my education. Like many graduate students, I know the challenges of balancing research with limited financial resources. The temptation to take on a part-time job is always there, but Native Forward’s assistance has allowed me to stay focused on my PhD work—writing my dissertation, conducting research, and continually expanding my knowledge through reading. The staff at Native Forward are incredible, and the work they do, particularly through the Empowerment Summit, is truly remarkable. It’s inspiring to be in a room with other Indigenous students and professionals, all of whom have been supported by this organization. I am filled with gratitude and can’t say thank you enough—thank you, and together, we are Native Forward!
The support that I have received from Native Forward is incomparable to any other organization I have been a part of before. I am so thankful and grateful to the staff at Native Forward who work so hard to support their students week in and week out. I truly would not have been able to thrive in medical school without the support of Native Forward. I am blessed by their overwhelming kindness, generosity and strengthening attitude in my pursuits of becoming an Alaskan Native/American Indian female physician next year.
Native Forward is an outstanding organization that truly goes above and beyond to support student success. I have never encountered a nonprofit so deeply committed to its mission of creating educational opportunities for Native Americans. Native Forward is a genuine blessing, and their support has profoundly impacted me and my family. Their dedication to helping students achieve their academic dreams is unparalleled.
I deeply admire and support the Native Forward Scholars Fund. Their tireless efforts to empower American Indian students have transformed countless lives. What sets them apart is their holistic approach to helping students, providing mentorship, guidance, and resources that address the unique challenges Native students face. Their commitment to cultivating the next generation of Native leaders, professionals, and scholars is genuinely inspiring.
What truly stands out about the Native Forward Scholars Fund is their deep respect for our cultures and values. They understand that education is a pathway to individual success and a means to strengthen communities and preserve our Native heritage. Having seen firsthand the positive impact of their work, I cannot stress enough the importance of supporting this incredible organization. By donating my time, resources, or funds, I can help fuel their mission, empower success, and make a real difference in the lives of native students. I urge everyone to support the Native Forward Scholars Fund today.
Native Forward has been instrumental in helping me navigate medical school. I love that they are always so helpful and willing to answer any questions I may have. The investment in my education through Native Forward scholarships has confirmed my decision to pursue my medical degree so I can give back to Native American and other underserved populations who so desperately need access to quality medical care. To all who are part of this wonderful organization, if it weren't for you, my dream of becoming a doctor would have become a financial burden. Wanishi, Native Forward!
Native Forward has given me the chance to continue with my goal of becoming a health care professional. Ultimatley I want to help people who are pain through means of exercise and human movement. I'm very grateful for the financial relief; the aid itslef has been a gift of time used to foucs my energy into the future.
Miigwech (thanks) Native Forward for all the assistance!
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Native Forward Scholars Fund for their invaluable support in helping me secure funding to attend the American Library Association Annual Conference. Their commitment to empowering indigenous individuals is truly commendable. The financial assistance provided by the fund not only enabled me to participate in this enriching experience but also strengthened my dedication to serving the indigenous community as an associate professor at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.
I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional team at the Native Forward Scholars Fund. Their dedication and passion for supporting indigenous individuals shone through in every interaction. The team members were not only professional and knowledgeable but also genuinely caring and supportive. I was pleasantly surprised when they took the time to contact me by phone to discuss aspects of my application and to learn more about my background and experiences. Their personalized approach made me feel valued and appreciated, and it truly enhanced my overall experience with the fund.
Native Forward is an incredible nonprofit. The work they do to support native scholars is truly lifechanging. I have both a personal affiliation with NF and now I give back when asked to volunteer. Truly top notch nonprofit. Thank you for all you do!
Throughout my undergraduate tenure, Native Forward provided me with a strong network of support and as an alumni, they continue to provide opportunities for me to give back to current students. I am able to maintain these connections in a professional capacity that allows for me to leverage my academic experiences to provide best-practice and guidance for current scholars.
I would not be where I am today if it were not for the support of the NFSF
Native Forward Scholars Fund and the Students I serve have brought me so much happiness and joy into my life. I am continuously motivated and inspired by the students I serve. Native Forward has had such a profound impact on my life. These past 23 years have been rewarding and fulfilling beyond measure. Native Forward not only changed the lives of our Scholars, their families and Tribal communities but it also changed the lives of those serving our amazing Scholars and Alumni. I know my life has been enriched beyond measure. Thank you, Native Forward for leading the way and empowering the next generation of leaders.
Native Forward, AIGC when i was awarded, is an amazing organization that helped propel me into a long career in corporate banking. When i was funded the org was small but accessible and responsive. Today, they continue this high level of service, to students and alumni like myself. I love their efforts to bring us back and encourage us to help future generations. We can truly pay it forward with the guidance of Native Forward.
Native Forward was instrumental in helping me achieve my college success. The financial and peer support was tremendous. The financial support that helped me keep student debt to a minimum has set me up for success in my post-graduate small business career.
Native Forward made it possible for me to pursue my dreams in higher education and obtain my Masters of Business Administration. I am very grateful for everything they do!
I am a first generation college graduate. I have 9 brothers and sisters and I am the middle child, but I was first to graduate from secondary education and also to do it debt free thanks to the help of scholarships and mentors. I have 2 degrees in science and am lucky enough to be able to set up college savings plans for my kids.
They supported me while I was on my journey to get my Bachelors and Masters Degree, grateful for this organization and the leadership behind it !
Native Forward helped cover the cost of my MBA. They support and encourage those in the native community who seek further education. They demonstrate how education can change lives and their many native alums can attest to that. Their management cares about the betterment of natives and it shows.
Native Forward Scholars Fund assisted me to attain my masters in secondary mathematics. I now teach in the largest school in Alaska! I'm the first in my family to receive a masters degree and daily I represent my family and culture every day around my students. I'm so grateful for their support!
I am a Gates Millennium Scholar of 2014. I graduated with my Bachelors in 2019 and my Masters in 2022. Coming from a rural area that lacks college preparedness, I am most grateful for Native Forward. Native Forward Scholarship team would take the time to meet me and various scholars on campus once a year or every other year to ensure everything was good as well as multiple follow ups throughout each semester via phone or email. The support I received from them is one of the major reasons I finished my degrees. Any time I had a question or concern they took care of it in the most respectful and kind way. They ensure us they care about their scholars and work hard to continue supporting the Native American community through Higher Education.
Native Forward Scholars Fund was a beacon of light for me during my second try at my undergraduate degree. I had dropped out of college due to an unhealthy relationship which ended in a divorce. After my divorce, I felt inspired to return to higher education and complete the degree I set out for. Native Forward was a great resource when it came to advisement and funding opportunities. I will be forever grateful to the staff who uplifted and empowered me during my academic journey through this tough time. I am proud to say that I am doing very well throughout my pursuit of higher education and know where to go when I need a shoulder to lean on. I recommend Native Forward as an amazing resource for all Natives who want to pursue higher education.
I would have never been able to attend law school without their help! I decided to apply for law schools at the age of 36. As the mother of four children, being able to attend law school, where you are unable to work, without support and grants, was impossible.
This nonprofit leans hard into providing financial, academic, social, and emotional support to Native students seeking education. They supported me in graduate school from 2018-2021.
Native Forward Scholars has helped me persist throughout my graduate education. As a first-generation low-income college graduate, attending graduate school was terrifying. Native Forward’s knowledge, presentations, and alumni network has helped me earn my masters degree and soon to be doctorate. Not only have they helped me, they have helped hundreds of other Native scholars! We are among the most underrepresented minority in higher education. Our voices, realities, and unique histories are often looked over, considered an asterisk, or ignored. Allowing us the opportunity to attend institutions of higher education has not only helped our people advocate for themselves, but advocate for our futures. I am forever grateful for the great work they do!
It's a great organization that helped me get my master's degree, and I volunteer with them almost every opportunity I get. I think very highly of the administration and the work they do is outstanding and very impactful.
Native forward has been with me throughout my higher education. They helped me during my undergraduate degree & helped significantly during my graduate degree. I’m very honored to be one of their scholars/alumni. They are doing a great service to indigenous communities across the country.
I was attending graduate school in California with no financial support from my parents. Although I had some funding from my research group on campus, it didn't come close to covering all my bills. Native Forward (formerly AIGC) supported me for a couple years with grad student funding and this helped me be able to focus on school. I graduated debt free in 2013 with a PhD in electrical and computer engineering. I currently work in a high tech industry, own my own home, and have 3 beautiful kids. I definitely endorse this nonprofit and testify to the fact that they are an important part in positive outcomes like mine.
Native Forward played an instrumental role throughout my entire academic journey, and I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement they provided. Native Forward's commitment to the advancement of indigenous students like myself has left an indelible mark on my academic journey. I am not only thankful but inspired to pay forward the support and encouragement I've received, knowing that organizations like Native Forward have the power to transform lives and shape a brighter future for indigenous communities.
I wouldn't be where I am today without the generosity of this organization and their wonderful staff who go above and beyond to help!
I have autism and this organization was the one I chose because they were so helpful and even called me for a much unexpected interview, it does elude or rather states in their information about their scholarships a phone interview is to be expected, I was nonetheless taken aback . I am Cherokee, as Cherokee I carry with me the spirit and intelligence of my ancestors Chief Sequoia, the in center of the first native to invent the indigenous peoples' Alphabet.I lost my daughter in December 2021.All of 2022 was a disbelief in what they had told me , I found gratitude and now with the rescue from my son a Cherokee-Creek , I live with the knowledge, the tenacity that although yes I was up against 4,000 and more and Native Forward apologized through countless emails ( because I had applied for over 7 scholarships) that they would be assuredly be given the links to organization (and I'm paraphrasing,;) that how regretful they were that I did not make it , not this year , they gave me hope that next year they Native Forward will be very interested in my scholarship applications and I will be better prepared as to how to fill one out properly, I am grateful, I am Cherokee.
Native Forward Scholars Fund has assisted me over a ten year period and have been nothing but professional, responsive, and very helpful in helping me achieve my educational goals. The biggest thank you to this organization and I wish you all the greatest blessings.
Native Forward has been a Godsend! They are the arms and feet of Jesus, in my opinion. When I needed help to continue school, they assisted me. They saw beyond mere words on a screen and recognized a human in need. After having to quit school over 20 years ago and becoming a single mother, Native Forward allowed me to complete what I almost gave up on: finishing my degree. I am now in my Doctoral Program, all because Native Forward believed in me enough to take a chance on me. I am forever grateful for Native Forward and will always openly share how much they’ve helped me because they were and are beneficial to my growth. Thank you so much, Native Forward! You’ve changed lives all over the world and it certainly didn’t start with me. You are a mainstay to Natives everywhere and I pray the work you do continues for generations to come.
My two children are applying for scholarships via the Native Forward Scholars Fund. The process has been thorough and professional. I am especially thankful for Michael Bates who has helped us through the process and fixed our application mistakes. We have had great experiences with this company so far!
Native Forward has provided more than financial support throughout my academic journey. I have greatly benefited and have even been able to give back through their programs such as Rising Native Graduates. I thank them for their support and I am grateful for all the opportunities they have made available.
Native Forward's resources and support helped a kid from the Montana 'Reservation' pursue his MBA dreams and accomplish a successful technology executive career in New York City! Thank you!
The Native Forward Scholars Fund has helped me in so many ways to get to where I am today in my education! Currently, I am a third year veterinary student and it is sadly considered very "normal" for veterinary students to graduate with astronomical debt. However, with the help of the Native Forward, I have been to stay out student debt, which not only gives me the power and freedom to focus on my studies and lean into my educational experience, but is setting me up to pursue my career aspirations after completing my degree!
Everyone at Native Forward is a pleasure to work with and talk to - they want to help you seek out opportunities and thrive along your educational journey. This is an organization that truly cares for students and is dedicated to supporting the next generation of Native American/Alaska Native leaders.
Thank you Native Forward for believing in me and for helping me in so many ways along the road to achieving my goals and career dreams!
Natives Forward is an amazing organization! I owe these wonderful people, everything. My graduate school journey has been quite difficult. Native Forward has given me support in many ways; financially, scholastically, and mentally! It is truly a blessing to have a support a system like Natives Forward to help Indigenous students pursue their dreams! I have so many positive things to say about Natives Forward, I would typing all day! They are kind, understanding, experienced, professional, and genuinely care about the well-being of Indigenous students! Thank you all for everything you have done!
I love this organization so MUCH!! They had helped me get through my Master's program during the pandemic. I've seen them go above and beyond for their students . Empowering Native students and encouraging us that we are capable of achieving a higher education. I'm so happy to be an Alumn of this Amazing organization. A'hee'hee Native Forward!
Halito, Chokma! Native Forward provides a great opportunity for Indigenous students to pursue their career goals by continuing their education. I was able to attain my Master’s Degree due to the financial scholarship support provided and this was literally a dream come true! After receiving my Master’s degree, I qualified for a graduate leadership fellowship in Washington DC which opened many personal and professional doors. Native Forward continues to be a great place to network, grow and give back. Apply today and be part of the Native Forward family.
My law school journey as a Native Forward scholar was instrumental to my success. The investment the organization made in me and my potential impact on Indian Country reduced my stress and financial burden. I also encouraged many other Indigenous law students to apply, hopefully by bringing awareness of the organization, I was able to broaden Native Forward's impact.
Native Forward has been a resource for my family and me to further our education. I went back to school for a Master's degree after my own son went to college. This would not have been possible without the scholarship provided by Native Forward (formerly AIGC). I graduated in 2015 and was promoted in 2016, thanks in part to this advanced degree!
My husband and I have been giving to Native Forward since we finished our graduate work. My husband received a scholarship from AIGC during graduate school and we wanted to continue giving back to help other Native scholars pursue their education. But after our first few times giving we learned more and more about the great work Native Forward is doing. The organization is well run, the scholarships and advocacy are meaningful, and we're proud to give now beyond a sense of obligation but because of our belief in their mission, professionalism, and unique ability to lift up and support Native scholars.
Native Forward Scholars Fund (formerly American Indian Graduate Center) provided exceptional support throughout my doctoral program. The fellowship I was awarded helped pay for my tuition, but the support and resources provided from the staff were even more helpful. I am deeply grateful for Native Forward and all of the assistance they offered throughout my doctoral studies.
With the help of Native Forward Scholars Fund, and their scholarships I was able to obtain my Bachelors degree completely debt free! If it wasn't for these scholarships I would have never reached my educational goals! 10 out of 10, I always recommend Native Forward to my friends and family pursing higher education.
The Native Forward Scholars Funds has assisted countless Native Americans for over 50 years in achieving a higher education. They are dedicated to the cause and many lives have been benefited from there hard work and dedication.
I am currently an undergraduate scholar under the overview of the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) and Gates Millenium Scholarship Program. Over my time as an undergraduate, I've been able to work with and be advised from AIGC. The work they do for us stems beyond measure. I come from a rough background, and without AIGC's help I would not have made it as far as I have in my pursuit of education. The staff gets to know each of us (scholars) on a personal level and are empathetic to every circumstance thrown their way, while upholding a high level of professionalism. When it comes to staying in contact with the students, their outreach happens more often than a lot of my university's advisors, which means a lot to me. Overall, I am very grateful for AIGC and the work that they have demonstrated to me over the years.
Without AIGC, I would not have the opportunities that I have been provided with. Numerous resources and funding that have helped many Native American students in their pursuit of a better education at the collegiate level.
Amazing organization, the people really care, and I have made lifetime friendships and they have supported me through school.
AIGC is an amazing organization that succeeds in their goal of supporting Native Americans in obtaining a higher education. I am a Yupik from Mountain Village, Alaska and grew up living a financially impoverished, rural lifestyle without the same educational opportunities as most Americans. I graduated high school after four years at a boarding school over 1000 miles away from my home and family and was awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship through AIGC. They have made the most beneficial difference in my life by providing financial and social support throughout the entirety of my undergraduate studies. I would not have been able to afford the education that I acquired thus far and am pursuing without the support of AIGC. The education acquired thus far is already benefiting my life and those of my people within the Asa'carsarmiut Tribe. AIGC works with incredible service and understanding of my life and educational goals, providing me life-changing opportunities that wouldn't be possible without them. I look forward to continue working with them for future educational endeavors.
AIGCS is an excellent program that offers scholarship services with a fast and very responsive team that can help in any way one can think of! The organizational system in place is easy to use and very helpful.
Providing boundless amounts of resources and support to Native students, AIGCS is a fantastic organization that keeps on giving with passion. Without their help, I would not be where I am today in pursuing my Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering. For that, I am thankful and want to note AIGCS as being an incredible nonprofit.
AIGCS has supported me since 2014, financially and personally. Every employee I have met has been down to earth, making them easy to approach. I can call, email, or text the staff and know they're happy to help me figure out whatever issue I bring them. I owe it to this organization for attaining my bachelor's, masters, and soon to be doctoral degree. I know they'll continue to help future students achieve their education goals.
As a Gates Millennium Scholar, I have nothing but good things to say about AIGCS! They really treat you like family, and they always take a personal approach to every student they meet. When my family lost our house in a fire, they went above and beyond to reach out to me, raise money to help us, and ensure I persisted in college. Once I finish college, I look forward to giving back to the AIGCS organization and community.
I am so grateful for the assistance from "The American Indian Graduate Center." Attending college without so many financial burdens was a game changer for me! I've just completed my Undergraduate Studies and will be continuing Graduate School in the Fall of 2021. I am able to be more optimistic and set future goals with the resources available from "The American Indian Graduate Center." My long-term goal is to serve my community and pay it forward to help others achieve a growth mindset.
AIGC has been funding my pursuit in the STEM field for a long time. With their support I have become not only a first generation graduate with my BA and MS, but am currently pursuing my doctorate. Native representation in my field is lacking and it can be easy to feel isolated, but AIGC has been a phenomenal source of support and encouragement. There is no better group to have on your side.
AIGC has been fundamental in my higher education. The administration of scholarships, programming, and the office staff have made a huge impact on me and have ensured that I completed my education path to this point. As a first generation college student, I was lost but with the guidance of all those involved with AIGC I’ve been able to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees and am now enrolled in a post-graduate program. As a high school teacher, I often find myself using their tools and resources, and recommending AIGC to my students. This is one of the absolute best organizations for Native students, and helps us give back to our own communities.
I am so proud of my Native American Indian heritage and very appreciative of the help and financial assistance of AIGC while I received my law degrees. Both the Doctoral Fellowship and Scholarship helped to advance my goals to become corporate In-House Counsel and Business Compliance Advisor.
Marveline and the AIGC staff were very helpful along the educational journey
I am a client and a supporter of the American Indian Graduate Center. In 1988 - 91, aigc contributed more than half my tuition to attend Lewis and Clark Law School. I graduated in 1991 and have practiced and taught Indian law ever since. I am currently a professor at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Aigc does a fabulous job in supporting American Indians and Alaska Natives to obtain their graduate degrees so that they can assist their tribal communities in crucial ways. I have supported aigc in my will and through gifts ever since I graduated. I have donated to aigc at least double the money it paid to support my law school education.
The American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) is creating Dreams come true every day. AIGC has empowered an estimated 16,000 students from over 500 tribes in all 50 states by providing scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. AIGC leadership proactively meets and exceeds there Mission and Values. Through network and face-to-face meetings, AIGC has worked with Corporations to understand the value and benefits of assisting students of all levels, and disciplines to reach their full potential. I commend AIGC leadership in a Job Well Done!

American Indian Graduate Center gives the opportunity to Native American students to further their Education that might not have the resources to do so. It is an excellent nonprofit, with great history and successes.
AIGC provided much needed funding for me while I was completing my Masters in Tribal Administration and Governance. I’m raising 4 grandchildren and work full time. Acquiring student debt at my age would have been a game ended. With the AIGC funding, I was able to complete my degree student debt free!!!
This is a great resource for my students looking for support to fulfill their college dreams. Our students have many hurdles to overcome and AIGC assists students to get through them.
AIGC funded me while I was obtaining my MPH while being a mother to two young girls. So grateful for their financial support at that time. I was able to finish my degree and now I have a job where I get to do public health research and evaluation in Tribal communities. I'm earning more than ever before and can provide for my daughter's. Thank you AIGC!
American Indian Graduate Center's efforts to empower Native scholars pursuing higher education is exceptional. Not only do they provide scholarships, but also academic support services specifically for Native students. Incredible work, American Indian Graduate Center!
AIGC funded both of my degrees, and I am forever grateful for the impact this organization has had on my life! Their staff is always professional, and they put the students at the forefront of their mission.
AIGC funded a good amount of my law school education. During that time, AIGC was like clockwork. My funding came through on time every time. Their staff was always professional and helpful throughout the entire process. I am so grateful to AIGC for assisting in my education.
AIGC has been such an amazing inspiration to me. Reading student articles in their magazine about how AIGC has impacted them has given me hope and motivated me to go back to college. Their staff is friendly and helpful, thank you for all that you do for the students!
Having worked with the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) over the years, it's is without any uncertainty that I regard this organization in the highest standards. I have applied and received a scholarship that helped fund my educational journey to obtain a degree in mathematics. I never had to question the timing of my funding and the staff were always supportive. AIGC prioritizes the needs of the students and goes the extra mile to ensure their success. The organization has improved over the years and it's good to see how AIGC continues to be a difference maker in Indian Country today and I look forward to seeing what they are able to do for our communities in the near and distant future.
I have worked with American Indian Graduate Center for the past three years! Their leader, Angelique Albert is one of the smartest, most authentic and committed individual I know. The work they do in supporting native scholars has launched the career of thousands of leaders!
I first became acquainted with the American Indian Graduate Center while working as a school guidance counselor in Browning, Montana. Initially, I thought that AIGC provided information and assistance for students to apply for the Gates Millennium Scholarship exclusively. It wasn't until after working with their staff that I learned all of the other opportunities provided by this excellent organization.
As previously stated, the AIGC promotes high school students to apply for the Gates Scholarship. However, this is just the tip of the college accessibility for all students iceberg. The staff works with students and their families to promote college as an option, especially for underrepresented individuals. They assist in completing the mountains of paperwork required for students to attend an institute of higher learning, crossing one hurdle after another. They provide support throughout the school year, and encourage students to "give back' by sponsoring community service experiences during the breaks.
The AIGC does not stop when the students receive their initial degree. They also provide opportunities to further student's education with an advanced degree.
The American Indian Graduate Center changes lives. I have witnessed this through the students I have worked with as a counselor. They provide the vessel for which the student can succeed. I am extremely proud that I have had the opportunity to witness first hand the impact this organization has had in creating leaders for our future.
AIGCS is an amazing organization. I had no idea receiving a scholarship would mean joining a community and family, but that’s exactly what happened. They care personally about your success and well being. Their support goes beyond educational, and their investment in their scholars means the world.
Excellent organization! They have a plethora of scholarships for Native students to apply for and great resources for students like me!
AIGC is an amazing organization doing all the best work for our future. There are so many caring individuals ready, willing and able to assist in any capacity to ensure education success.
I was funded by AIGC for ten years. Without their support and encouragement to continue on and strive to pursue my degrees, I would not have been able to graduate not only with my BA and MS but successfully defended my Ph.D. The services they provide for students go far beyond just financial commitments. The staff at AIGC truly became family to me. Thank you all so much!
The American Indian Graduate Center has helped so many individuals obtain their degree. They have afforded young women and men the opportunity to strive for better and giving the resources to accomplish their dreams.
I am a witness to great management in non- profits and a commitment to Native education in AIGC. Committed staff and highly motivated.
I have had nothing but good experiences with this non-profit, I love what they stand for, and I love their history. It started out of someones home because they saw a need and to see where they are now is incredible. If you get the chance, just read their history and the impact they are making in Indian country.
An excellent organization with a great mission to serve Native people in their higher education pursuits!
The current challenge to raise college enrollment, retention, and graduation rates for American Indian Alaska Natives is being met by the American Indian Graduate Center, not only through providing scholarship monies, but also Student Support Services - to further student success. AIGC has been supporting Native education for over 50 years!

I've worked with other educational organizations focused on needs of American Indians Alaska Natives - AIGC has been around the longest, has generated and administered more than 200 million dollars since they began, and continues to work nationally with all tribes and all states. AIGC has helped my dreams come true. I am a first generation college graduate, this was made possible by AIGC. I also finished my degree in Biology. The staff and administrators are genuine and helpful. I am proud to be an AIGC alumni!
Every since I met staff at AIGC, I was inspired to learn more about the organization. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming. I was able to volunteer as a Reader for the Gates Millennium Scholarship and eventually hired on as a staff member. I have seen first hand the impact the organization has done for Native communities, families, and students. I am absolutely proud to be part of an organization that promotes education.
It was through this organization, AIGC (www.aigcs.org), that I was able to fund my degree in Mathematics at a university I would never have thought possible due to financial barriers. But AIGC made it happen and was able to provide outstanding academic support from other natives along the way. I wish more natives knew about AIGC so they could apply today and earn a degree or two.
Check it out, share with your family and friends!
AIGC has had a profound impact on my life. From being funded as a AIGCS scholar, to reading scholarship application, to serving as an Alumni mentor and then coming full circle to be employed with AIGC. I am both humbled and proud to be a part of such an amazing organization that has the ability to impact tribal communities in such a profound way. How can AIGC help you succeed? AIGC helped me get on the right path when I was planning on going to college. They helped me organize myself and apply for scholarships and other funding opportunities. They also helped my wife apply for the GMS scholarship and she was able to complete her BS in Science with their help. I greatly appreciate all that AIGC has done!
Staff is extremely helpful. Very encouraging on completing educational goals. Even if not selected gives out other information on other scholarships
AIGC helped my dreams become a reality by funding both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am forever grateful for the staff at AIGC, as they went above and beyond in every way possible to ensure I reached my full potential.
Thank you for investing in me and thereby investing in my American Indian community. AIGC has shaped so many lives and impacted our American Indian Communities. There are so many leaders that we have now in our communities that are doing great and wonderful things that would have never been there if not for the gift of the AIGC Fellowship. Thank you AIGC for changing the trajectory of so many lives for the better. I am an AIGC Alumna and AIGC paid for the first year of my Masters Program.
AIGC has always reached out to the Native American community, they are such a big help, and also inspire native students to reach for higher education. I love that they reach out to the native communities not only in the city but on the Reservations as well.
The American Indian Graduate Center has a strong history of sound financial practices where funds raised go to scholarships and support services for students. They are committed to a student's educational success.
The numbers tell the story: 16,000 alumni, 1,300 students receiving scholarship benefits right now. Nobody does it better!
