I have been working with Global Give a Book for about a month now and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I did a reading with Ms. Junior Pre-teen of New Mexico at Barnes and Noble and had a wonderful time. It feels good to be able to get out into the community and share reading with the peolpe of Albuquerque.
As new parents of twins, we know the love of reading starts early. We cherish the moments spent reading to them, knowing it’s the start of something special. Books have shaped our lives, and we want every child to have the same chance to discover the joy of reading. GGAB is making that possible, and we’re grateful to be part of spreading the word about their incredible work. If you have the time, the resources, and the desire to support youth literacy, GGAB is the answer!
I’ve been following Global Give-A-Book since 2019, before I became a mom. I admire their mission, seeing how they put books into the hands of children who need them most. But this year, when I became a mom myself, their work took on an even deeper meaning for me. When I received books for my little one, I was so grateful and excited to give my baby the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. As I read to my newborn, I think about how many other parents get to share in this joy because of GGAB. Their mission is real, their impact is personal, and I am so thankful to be part of this journey!
I was introduced to Global Give-A-Book in 2019, and every year since seen their impact grow. It’s not just about handing out books, it’s about giving kids a chance to dream and explore! I’ve shared their mission with friends, family, and anyone who will listen! I loved reading as a kid, and it’s so nice to see the magic of books being spread to others! If you’ve ever considered volunteering, join their community of volunteers. If you can give, every dollar counts. GGAB is strengthening our communities one book at a time!
I was a volunteer with global give a book during ballon fiesta. They are an amazing organization, focused on, making reading more accessible for at needs children. It was amazing to participate with such a great organization.
I volunteered a few times with the Charity as a friend invited me along, they are very professional and friendly, working the events was both fun and rewarding. I highly reccomend volunteering with them!
GGAB is an incredible nonprofit, looking to spread knowledge to children who need it the most. I heard of GGAB through social media and love the work that they do. I was immediately drawn to their mission of making books more accessible to kids. More recently, I won a Barnes & Noble gift card through one of their raffles, which was such a cool bonus! Beyond that, I really admire the work they do to foster a love for reading in young readers. I’m hoping to volunteer with them in the future because I would love to be part of the impact they’re making. If you’re looking for a great nonprofit to support, I highly recommend supporting them!
Dear Global Give A Book,
My dream was always to become a big reader. From the age I could read, to right now. From The Babysitter Club to Harry Potter, I've always had a part of me empty, that reading has filled. I love the way your company can inspire people to read. Helping others read is one of the best things a person can do. I am so thankful that I was introduced to your company. Buying more books is like living the life for me. I'm glad you help other people like you helped me. Reading means so much to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Norah G. Garmon

Dear Global Give-A-Book,
Thank you for giving me and my sister a gift card. It meant a lot to me because the books I bought were on my hero. My hero is a swimmer. Her name is Katie Ledecky. When I read this book, it inspires me to be a better swimmer because I do swimming. I hope other kids read about their heroes instead of just watching them on a screen. When I read, I like for there to be more words than pictures because I like to imagine them in my head and make them in my mind instead. The books that I got were "Just Add Water: My Water Life" by Katie Ledecky and "Who is Katie Ledecky?" Thank you for making this program.
Sincerely,
Madison Garmon

As a professional dedicated to literacy and education, my experience with Global Give-A-Book (GGAB) has been truly inspiring. GGAB is not just a nonprofit; it is a movement committed to closing the literacy gap by ensuring that children—especially those in underserved communities—have access to high-quality, award-winning books from an early age.
I have been volunteering with GGAB for over two years now. I always have such fun interacting with the families who come by the booth/table to learn about the mission and receive a new book to add to their own home libraries. GGAB remains my go-to organization for individuals seeking volunteer opportunities and genuine community connections.
I loved volunteering at Balloon Fiesta, it was fun passing out business cards as well as handing out books to parents and kids.
We are so excited to have GGAB as partners with the Food Bank! This week they distributed 500 new, packaged books to families in our distribution line. This partnership is very special to us as it gives everyone access to new books.
I recently worked with GGAB at Lavender in the Village, also called Lavender Libros. The event was filled with lots of people, lavender, and books! I loved handing out books and talking to people about the GGAB literacy mission. When kids approached the GGAB booth you could see them light up, they got so excited to pick out their own book! All in all Lavender Libros was not only fun it was also a great way to get kids interested in reading.
GGAB is a wonderful non-profit that strives to improve child literacy. I worked with them at the Lavender Libros festival where they gave away free books and held story times for children. It felt magical to bring smiles to kids faces when they received a free book. Working with GGAB I felt inspired by their commitment to their cause and the community.
Working with GGAB was a great experience. The staff and volunteer group is very friendly and were very supportive for the new staff and volunteers. They created a fun and interactive environment for kids and their families to get involved in.
My mom has been instilling a love of reading in me from a very young age. I spent many hours of my childhood at the library, where I could read for free, and I am grateful that that resource was available to me. I believe that reading is a skill no person should have to go without, it is a tool that never stops providing you with opportunities. I also loved hearing about the different programs GGAB does like Lavender Libros, working with food pantries, and encouraging kids to read to their pets. I particularly enjoyed hearing about kids reading to pets, I remember having a lot of fun doing the same thing when I was younger. It’s important to give kids opportunities to learn and grow in fun interactive ways that foster creativity and enthusiasm. Looking over the organization's mission reminded me of the book fairs in elementary school, and how much I would have loved to get a book alongside my peers. Global-give-a-book has many programs and events that I would be excited to work on.
Being a GGAB Volunteer means getting to support other amazing local organizations in their mission to help those in our community who need it most. My time at the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Reverse Gala in September of 2023 representing GGAB was a memorable night filled with smiles, dancing, and an indescribable sense of community fellowship. Giving new books to the children was a privilege and an honor! I am looking forward to what the gala has in store for 2024!
I worked alongside Global Give-A-Book as a volunteer during an event in the summer of 2023 at the Lavender in the Village Festival in Albuquerque, NM. It was so much fun seeing the children receive a new book, wanting to open it up right away, and asking for multiple to share with their siblings and friends. Books are such a vital part of every child's success as they embark on their journey to adulthood. GGAB's mission to ensure EVERY CHILD has access to books means that as adults, we must set the example and READ READ READ to the children in our lives! If you have the opportunity to volunteer with this organization, I highly encourage you to do so- you won't regret it!
Art Will Save The World is a project through A World of Difference Charity ensuring access to art-based initiatives for children. Something we value deeply within that mission is access to age-appropriate books for preliteracy-aged children. Our support of GGAB is rooted in the belief that every child should have access to literature, art, and the tools necessary to enhance their lives, their perspectives, and ultimately, their minds- ART WILL SAVE THE WORLD!
I have been volunteering with GGAB since 2020, their first year as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit! In four short years, I have seen this organization thrive and grow into parts of the community that need them most. By embracing and acknowledging the gap in literacy levels among our youth, GGAB has opened the door of wonder and possibilities for countless children across the Southwest US and beyond! That magic is not lost on the adults, volunteering with GGAB has been a wonderful experience and keeps me coming back every chance I can!
I am a proud member of the Global Give-A-Book team and have had an incredible experience. This organization is changing lives of thousands by gifting books to children who need them most. From interactive events that make reading fun, to online programs like Lavender Libros and Reading with Shepherd Daisy, GGAB is continuously finding ways to inspire youth to WANT to read. There is nothing more rewarding than being part of this team and knowing that a difference in the world is truly being made.
Visiting The Food Depot of Santa Fe was an outstanding experience. Throughout our partnership, GGAB has given thousands of books to this organization to be distributed to children who need them most! The individually packaged books are given alongside the boxes of groceries prepared by the food bank- the children love them!
Global Give A Book (GGAB) ROCKS! I had the pleasure of helping during a Barnes & Noble event and helped at the resource and information table. It was great seeing kids and parents learn about this amazing program. I love helping GGAB!

I had the pleasure of joining GGAB at the Mariachi Spectacular event at the Isotope's last game of the season. The other volunteers and I had the task of going around, giving out GGAB bookmarks and pencils to families at the game and sharing a bit about GGAB's mission of youth literacy. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to share GGAB's message with those who seemed genuinely interested and passionate about youth literacy as well. It was also super cute to see the kids get so happy to receive a pencil! Overall, I had a great time and hope to have the opportunity to accompany GGAB at an event again in the future!

I am so glad I had the opportunity to visit Cuidado Los Niños and read to the kids there through GGAB's reading program. Cuidado Los Niños is a wonderful preschool and resource center for children and families experiencing homelessness. I read to a class of 4-5 year-old's and really enjoyed getting to spend time with the kids and witness their interest in the books. One little girl in particular really liked a Spanish book we brought called "Quiero a mi papá porque...". Overall, I am so happy and grateful I get to spread a love for reading with these kids thanks to GGAB!
10-20-23
I was able to return to Cuidado Los Niños again thanks to GGAB. The kids there now remember us and greet us with excitement every week we return. I love that we're able to create relationship with these kids and cultivate an interest in reading. I look forward to continuing to promote youth literacy with GGAB!

I had another wonderful experience reading to the kids at Cuidado Los Niños! This time one of the books we read, called "Welcome to the Big Kids Club", covered what it's like to become an older sibling. Many of the kids I talked to had baby siblings and were excited to tell me about their experience and how it related to the book. It was very sweet. I look forward to my next visit!
12-08-23
This was most likely my last visit to Cuidado Los Niños, and it was a very bittersweet end. Throughout our visits the kids have grown to become more enthusiastic upon our arrival to the point where during this visit they immediately greeted us and asked us to start reading. I had a really great time reading to them, and before we left all the kids gave us a big goodbye hug which was very, very sweet. I am so thankful to CLN and GGAB for allowing me this experience, it is truly one I will never forget!

Had an amazing time becoming educated with GGAB on community gardens and importance of healthy food and accessibility in our community! Important to see how Global Give a Book improves and gets in touch with their community.

Had an amazing time at Global Give A Books Lavender Libro's in the Sky event on October the 13th at the Balloon Museum. It was an amazing event giving out books to kids and watching the light show in the sky at night! I absolutely loved helping giving out books and talking to adults interesting in GGAB. Its also amazing that every kid gets a book no matter what, and the kids love choosing their own book like its a gift!
I'm excited for what this nonprofit has for New Mexico and the world!

I had the opportunity to go to Cuidando Los Niños to read to the 4 and 5 year olds during their recess time. We had a lot of fun meeting the children there and getting them excited to listen to the stories. It was very rewarding to support this wonderful organization and I am excited to go back and read to them again!

I had a wonderful time going back to Cuidando Los Niños and working with the kids. They were excited to see us again and requested books they remembered from the last time. Creating an ongoing program like this is so important to support children's literacy!
10/27/2023
As always, I greatly enjoyed my time reading at Cuidando Los Niños. The kids and teachers all seemed happy to see us. The kids remembered some of the books we had read to them before and started telling the stories to me while flipping through the book. It's great to see kids excited about reading and storytelling!

I had a blast reading at Cuidando Los Niños, and the kids were super engaged. It's amazing to see how the children's excitement for reading has grown over time as we keep returning!
An amazing organization that cares about our future, handing out amazing literature to our kids.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” - Dr. Seuss
Sylvia and the whole team at Global Give A Book are incredible! When it comes to mission driven organizations that really make a difference, this is one of them. The idea of helping someone get a tangible award winning book for their ownership combined with the ability of a kids imagination to sometimes escape their current situation, to me is priceless.
Thank you guys so much for what you do!
I was invited to a Global Give-A-Book event in El Paso, Tx, by a member of the GGAB team. Upon arrival, I could not help but feel the children's excitement as they approached our table with the promise of leaving with a new book. The smiles were endless! I look forward to the next opportunity to volunteer and invite anyone reading this to do the same! Thank you, GGAB for all you do for our community!
Great to see an organization dedicated to literacy. After attending an event and watching children marinate in the joy of opening a new book, I am proud to support global give a book!
Sylvia from GGAB and their intern, Camila, came to visit my multi-age class during our school's Genius Hour last Friday. What an amazing experience for my students! They each received a beautiful, hard-cover book which they will cherish for a long time. The students at my school all come from low income families who are chronically under-resourced for basic living needs and would not normally have the means to provide books for their children. Having access to quality literature is one of the greatest gifts a child can receive. Thank you so much, GGAB! We hope to have you back again to visit with our youngsters.
Recently I had the opportunity to participate in in the Philanthropic Summit on behalf of Global Give A Book. What an amazing event to be a part of!
First, a big thank you to Albuquerque Business First for hosting this event and their support of nonprofit organizations. Secondly, thanks to Nusenda Credit Union, Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. , Intel Corporation, Thornburg Investment Management and Western Sky Community Care because of your constant support nonprofits can continue to thrive.
When we all come together for the greater good of our New Mexico communities we all win!
Wow, what an amazing opportunity we had! Our daughter, Mercedes, GGAB junior ambassador, had the privilege to meet and personally thank NM State Representative, Cynthia Borrego who has been so kind of her time to help spread the word about the importance of ggab in everyone’s community. Ms. Borrego asked for support during a state meeting and allowed Mercedes to pass out books to all of the state representatives last February. Kindness and awareness from state leaders is so vital.
Working with GGAB is an amazing experience. Hearing parents talk about how GGAB has changed their life, and showing now showing love for books is amazing to see. Many parents expressed the need for books during COVID and how grateful and excited kids were for books. With GGAB I see the a greater scale of the importance of books and reading to children
Global give a book is an important non-profit in our community because it provides resources to improve child literacy. They not only provide books to young people but they find innovative ways to increase interest in reading at a young age. This is so important because literacy is the foundation to being successful in life.
Glad to be of service to the children in need of our community! Can’t wait to spread more cheer to children and I’m grateful that Global Give-A-Book helps spread that cheer!!
I would first like to give a big Thank You for what GGAB does for the children, their families, and the community. I am a mother to two young children. The books we were given have been my oldest sons “go-to” books every night. My sons are ages 7, and 1 and reading has always been a part of our daily routine. At my oldest sons parent/teacher conference earlier last fall, my 7 year olds teacher shared with me her amazement at not only my sons reading ability but his writing skills. She asked me what is it that we do with him that stands him apart with how he writes so well. I was almost brought to tears when I told her that we read to him regularly. I strongly believe that children who have access to the kind of books Global Give a Book provides is an integral part of their development. I hope they can continue to share their mission and empower as many children and families like mine.
I had great experience being able to give kids a smile with a book. I loved seeing everyone come together to make this experience possible. I will definitely volunteer for every event going forward.
I had the opportunity to volunteer with GGAB during one of their events for the kids. It was so wonderful to see all the kids who received their very own books and so much more to take home. I’m so happy I got to be apart of it for a day and I look forward to many more volunteer opportunities with Global Give a Book!
GGAB has served the ABQ relentlessly! The success of their mission is seen in the smiles of the children that receive #GGABooks. Thank you, GGAB!
Global Give A Book is reaching so many children in a profound way. It is the difference between light and dark, and I am honored to be a part of Global Give A Book!
I had the opportunity to start helping Global Give-A-Book at its beginning stages. Sylvia, the CEO, was contagious with her enthusiasm. Her love for reading and helping those children in need pushed her through the development stages of this non-profit. She left her work environment in order to pursue her passion for helping our community and the world's children. I joined this organization to help Sylvia with her vision.
The following organizations she has worked with is numerous.
Food Pantries
Lavender Libros
Homeless programs
The difference GGAB has made in New Mexico, and the young victims of the largest fire in New Mexico history, is second to none. These poor children that have lost everything and are receiving new books with the delivery of their food. Awards winning books. Brand new. Into the hands of the children that need it the most.
GGAB is the new up and coming non-profit that will benefit the world and our upcoming leaders. This organization is in its infant stages. I can foresee that this program will compare to Reese Witherspoon's nonprofit.

They do such a great job by donating books to children in need! The best part is story time at there events! We love volunteering for GGAB!
My non-profit, The Food Depot, partners with Global-Give-A-Book and they are awesome! This organization has such a passion for children and literacy. We love that they provide books in multiple languages and the books are so fun. Everything comes packaged so beautifully. They are so easy to work with as well. We have been able to bring joy to hundreds of children thanks to Global-Give-A-Book, and I hope we have a partnership that lasts for many years!
We went to a Global Give A Book event in Albuquerque NM. It was wonderful to see the quality of the books available to the children. We watched the kids smile with delight as they received a new free book.
I love that they gave my son a new book. We don't always have money to buy a book, and most bookstores are not nearby or accessible when my car doesn't work. I keep up with their newsletters and am eager to see them grow so quickly. I hope they continue getting funding because they have high goals set and our community desperately needs people like them to make a difference.
We can not let story telling be a thing of the past. Global give a book reminds us of the importance of reading and togetherness with our children !
I have got the chance to see Global give a book gift books to children through a few of their events. The kids receiving the books are always so happy and proud to have something for them.
I’m so grateful I get the opportunity to volunteer with such a great nonprofit!
