Causes: Recreation & Sports, Sports
Mission: To advocate, promote, and create opportunities for all forms of bicycling in the miami valley.
Programs: One program is link, which includes 27 bike sharing stations within the dayton, ohio metro area. Bike miami valley expanded to add 3 new stations and in total attracted more than 3,900 unique users that took more than 30,000 trips in 2016.
the second program is the regional advocacy committee or "rac". Through rac, bike miami valley supported various important pro-cycling initiatives within local and regional areas. Bike miami valley organized 3 social events with over 100 participants in the miami valley to gather bike advocates and provide information about upcoming issues or events. Local rac chapters, comprised of centerville, piqua, and springfield, organized and participated in various events within their local communities.
the third program is cycling education which used proceeds from a grant to coordinate adult cycling education programs which are comprised of 3 class options. During 2016, 40 classes were offered with more than 130 participants.
