Mission: The baum school of art is a community school dedicated to providing instruction, guidance and encouragement for children, adults and those who wish to pursue college-level studies to reach their highest level of technical, physical, spiritual, creative and emotional potential through the study of visual arts. The school values the diversity of its population, including but not limited to gender, creed, social status or race. The mission is deeply rooted in service to the community.
Programs: The baum school of art served 4,619 students in 2016-2017 through approximately 350 classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and metalsmithing, fashion design and construction, photography, graphic design, illustration, and others. In addition to its educational programs, the baum school of art's david e. Rodale and rodale family galleries hold 12-14 gallery exhibitions a year and feature regional, national, and international artists, as well as student work and multiple juried exhibitions. In 2016-2017, the baum school of art reached 3,441 lehigh valley residents at our facility as well as off-site through our art education and outreach programs, scholarships, and financial assistance. Furthermore, during the last fiscal year, the baum school served an additional 1,496 students off-site through increased community outreach partnerships.
