Mission: The foundation of the american society of transplant surgeons (the foundation) provides additional programs that support the mission and assure the future of the american society of transplant surgeons (the society). The mission of the the society is to advance the art and science of transplant surgery through leadership, advocacy, education and training. The society achieves its mission through four strategic goals: advocacy, research, training and professional development and optimal patient care. The activities of the foundation support these goals and strive to positively impact the membership and the patients they serve.
Programs: The foundation, through strategic partnerships, provides funding for research grants designed to advance the field of organ transplantation. Research grants are available to the society's members and their trainees throughout the united states and canada. Since the program's inception, over 200 people have received more than $10m in research grant funding.
