Programs: Wheaton franciscan healthcare - st. Francis, located on milwaukee's south side, is a general acute-care hospital licensed for 260 beds. Specialties include a comprehensive cardiac care program, including full surgical services, heart scanning, catheterization, angioplasty and electrophysiology; full orthopedic services; interventional radiology, including a 3-t mri and new interventional radiology biplane suite; comprehensive neurology and stroke program; women's health services including obstetrics, a level ii neonatal nursery and prenatal assessment center; 24-hour emergency service and urgent care; outpatient services; cancer care; and sports medicine. The outpatient center at st. Francis is home to the center for neurological disorders, internationally known for cutting edge treatments for ms and parkinson's disease. The outpatient center also houses a neuro rehab unit, a sleep disorders center and physician offices. St. Francis is a fully accredited chest pain center and an advanced primary stroke center. The hospital also maintains its baby-friendly hospital designation - one of only 55 hospitals nationwide to do so - from the world health organization and the united nations children's fund in recognition of birth facilities promoting successful breastfeeding.
