Mission: The architecture foundation of oregon supports oregon's quality of life and creates awareness of our designed environments through education, advocacy, philanthropy and inspiration.
Programs: Architects in school: one hundred and ten design professionals partnered with teachers in 98 oregon schools to provide 6-week residencies for 3,000 third through fifth grade students. Architect/teacher teams developed customized curriculum from afo's guide, connecting the study of architecture with learning goals in math, science, social studies, art and other subject areas. Relationships with architects and schools were expanded in our service areas across the state.
hatfield architectural award: a $2,000 scholarship was awarded to an exemplary student enrolled in architectural studies at the university of oregon school of architecture and allied arts.
van evera bailey fellowship: a $25,000 fellowship was awarded to a mid-career architect for pursuit of individual study, travel and research to enhance the recipient's practice and the field of architecture.
