Animal Guardians Horse Rescue Inc. is a very dedicated group of people who work tirelessly to help senior horses find a soft place to land and live out their golden years. Even knowing that the majority of these horses need specialized and costly care, AGHR does everything in their power to take them in and get them the help they need, whether it is physical or behavioral. This group of people truly only have the horses best interests at heart.

This rescue is made up of the most dedicated and compassionate people that I have ever met. They go above and beyond to rescue the most needy, neglectful, abused and older horses. They help individuals, shelters and at horse auctions. If you want to donate to a most worthy cause, this is the rescue!

We are ever-grateful to the Parelli Foundation for their love and support in granting us this natural horsemanship education grant, enabling us to expand our Parelli Training Program and work with one of the premier Parelli Professionals in CA, Susan Nelson Thibault, in June 2019! So exciting! Thank you Parelli Foundation!

We love being involved and supporting the Adoptions Parnter programs in Los Angeles County & City, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, and San Bernadino County! We could not accomplish half as much if we did not have the professional collaboration with shelter staff and management with the shelters we serve. We love the senior horses and horses with special needs. We are so glad to pull them and avoid euthanasia. Thank you for trusting and working with us.

My name is George Infante. I have been the farrier for AGHR for more then 6 years now. I have loss count of the horses that went through the program and have found loving homes. Some of these horses have been neglected, left behind, malnourished and forgotten. Some lost their trust with human contact. However with the love, kindness, and patience that Deborah and her team gives them, they learn to trust again. AGHR is the perfect match maker in finding these horses the right owner. It's a beautiful thing seeing these horses pulled out of terrible situations, and then live their remaining years in a caring homes with full bellies. I'm proud to be part of this wonderful organization. AGHR is making the world a better place saving one horse at a time.

Thank you so much George! We are ever-grateful for your professionalism and kindness, as well as your knowledge, patience, and time with some of our kickers and fearful horses. If given a choice, we would never use another farrier. Thank you for your friendship and support!

I would like to thank Debra of Animal Guardians Horse Rescue Inc. She was so instrumental in helping me find a safe Sanctuary for 2 abandon thoroughbred horses. I have never met any one that was so caring and devoted to place them. She was up at all hours of the night working on this for me. Debra is truly dedicated to helping. She guided me along the way. If it had not been for her I don't know what I would have done. Debra did not give up, she followed through until they were placed in a wonderful Rescue Sanctuary. Thank God for Debra and all of you who helped me, and are still out there helping. Bless you all.

Thank you so much Shirley for this wonderful review. We are so grateful to you that you had the patience and faith in us to wait to find a good placement for the 2 seniors abandoned at your stable. We love to collaborate and help save lives; it's what we do. We are so happy for the happy ending for the 2 TBs recently. Very appreciative that you would take good care of them and not euthanize them or send them to an auction. It shows very good character on your part. We are very happy to help.

I decided to help out because because they were a smaller rescue with a huge heart. They do what they can to help out the horses, including minis and they work so hard. They manage their network of horses well and they do a lot of events to help raise funds to care for their horses and they take the time to acknowledge their volunteers and they are great about communicating with their group of supporters. They are definitely a five star rescue!!!

I have had the pleasure of serving as a volunteer, Board Member, trainer, sponsor, and now foster caregiver, with this fantastic organization. I can see it's a labor of love, but the horses we save with special needs, and even the dog saved, all directly reap the rewards of our efforts. This organization is small, but strong, and with such big hearts, we work together to make life better for "throw away" animals that no one else will take a chance on. Animal Guardians Horse Rescue is a great place to call "home". I highly recommend this rescue for sponsorship, donations, volunteering, foster care, & adoption. All around, I give it a 5-star rating for outstanding significance!

My story unfolds a little more every year. I have served as a Volunteer, Volunteer Trainer, Fundraising Organizer, Director of Development, Foster Caregiver, and Sponsor. I have worn many hats and played many roles. But I could not do any of them well without the help and support of all of the team members involved with this organization. As a Parelli student and practitioner, I am proud to have won a Parelli Foundation Natural Horsemanship Education Grant and help this organization to develop community-wide education programs for horses and humans to better understand each other. I am proud to be involved and encourage others to get involved too. If you can't volunteer, then make a donation, or sponsor a horse. Every bit of help makes a huge difference. The horses this organization serves would not stand a chance without them. I am so proud to work together with the team to change lives, save lives, and bring love and joy to these senior horses' daily.

I am so proud to be a part of Animal Guardians Horse Rescue. Deborah Delvon, the founder, works harder than anyone I have ever seen to rescue and save the lives of elderly horses. I adopted my first horse from the rescue and I couldn't be happier. These horses deserve to be loved and to be taken care of in their senior years. The horses have so much personality and unconditional love to give back. Adopting a horse is everything and more then I thought it would be.

I have been volunteering with AGHR for about 6 months now and I couldn't be happier. I have always wanted to work with horses but I didn't know where to go or where to start. When the opportunity came to me to work with a rescue I jumped at the chance. Deborah, the founder, is so passionate about her rescue and the horses. I have learned so much from her. She will bend over backwards for anyone or any horse that needs her. I am honored to be a part of this amazing organizatiion.

I've read about this charity in the newspaper and decided to join a year and a half ago. I would have never given this much of my time unless I totally believe in their mission and seen the benefit to horses they accomplish. The horses they take in would not be living if animal guardians was not there. I am proud to be a part of saving horses.

I adopted a senior horse Donatello from AGHR. They found a temporary foster home where I could participate in his care and learn about what he needed until I could find my own boarding stable. It was a great experience with plenty of help and support from them.

AGHR found a lovely older gelding at the animal shelter. He had a big arthritic knee so most likely not rideable and hadn’t been adopted. Deborah had been talking about him with me. On the day before the shelter was to euthanize him I committed to adoption. AGHR found a private home for him to stay. He was my first horse and they helped me through learning about feed etc. until I was able to find a stable near my home. They kept in touch and followed our progress. We had a wonderful life until age took him from me.

I have served as a foster caregiver for two older mares rescued by AGHR for the past six months. Both the mares were underweight due to negligence and one had a permanent lameness-causing injury. AGHR works with the Los Angeles County animal control to rescue and provide foster and permanent homes for horses. When I offered to foster AGHR inspected my ranch and horse facilities and checked with my veterinarian and farrier to make sure I had the ability to care for the horses. AGHR uses supporters' contributions to pay for the cost of feed and supplements for the horses, and I provide the TLC (tender loving care). AGHR staff and volunteers regularly visit the mares to check on their progress and to answer any questions I have about their care. AGHR's foster care program allows me and others to help horses in need, and work together to find them permanent homes.

I have been a donor to AGHR for some time now….I am also a good friend of one the sponsors/boarder’s to this fabulous organization. I can attest to the compassion, caring and hard work put in by all members and volunteers. It is truly inspiring what they accomplish for these abused, sick and aging horses.

I do wish I could put in some volunteer work myself, but have a very busy work and personal schedule that prevents it. So, I do the next best thing and donate MONEY, which is very much needed and truly appreciated by everyone involved at AGHR. Keep up the GREAT WORK and THANK YOU for all you do!

I have been a volunteer with AGHR for almost six months now, along with my husband, we spend time with several rescue horses caring for them, grooming and now re-training one of them.

I had relatively little experience in the care of horses prior to volunteering with AGHR, I was an experienced rider, but now thru volunteering and with that came mentoring from the Founder Deborah, who is one of the most “horse-knowledgeable” people I have ever met, and hands on training, videos, and also attending charity events aimed at saving horses, I can honestly say I am comfortable handling, grooming, feeding, and caring for these beautiful horses who have had more than their share of harsh treatment in their lives.

Deborah goes out of her way to make sure her “rescues” will find a forever home, I am very happy to be associated with Animal Guardian Horse Rescue, I think I get as much out of it as the horses.

I am a volunteer at AGHR. My wife and I joined the rescue several months ago. We had very little horse experience aside from stable riding and attending horse shows. Since volunteering, we have been trained how to handle, feed and groom the horses through mentoring, hands on, video trainings and attending the events.
We have witnessed firsthand the compassion and support the directors, members/volunteers, boarders and donors who provide care and funds for the horses. Everyone one involved with the rescue are very friendly, knowledgeable and show a great concern for the health and well-being of the horses.
AGHR mainly deals in older, abused horses, allowing them to live out their lives being “pampered” so to speak…which I feel makes for a great cause that is definitely needed.
A special thank you to Deborah for her dedication and constant involvement with all aspects of the organization, it couldn’t run this well without you.
I look forward to providing many years of volunteer service to AGHR.

AGHR is a run and operated by people who truly care and care to do their best. Placing elderly and sick horses into loving care, with gentle and safe volunteers is not as easy as it should be but is done so here with tenacity and great passion. As a volunteer I am very impressed with not only the care of the horses, but the interest in the development of the volunteers as well. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to be more involved with horses, either as a volunteer or donor.

I am a donor to this organization, which does wonderful work with some of the most needy of God's creatures: the sick, the aged, abused, and unwanted horses. AGHR volunteers and donors tirelessly care for and help heal as many as they can, placing them in Forever Homes when possible.

Deborah and her Band of Angels have intervened to rescue many from suffering and death in the short time I have been a donor. I only wish I could give more.
