Mission: Amrita performing arts is an international ngo with us nonprofit status. Amrita is committed to the creation of cambodian contemporary dance and theater, responding to the creative drive of a young generation of artists who have taken on the task of ushering cambodia's ancient performing arts heritage into the future. Amrita performing arts develops fully staged productions of contemporary cambodian dance and theater in collaboration with international collaborators, featuring professional cambodian performers through a process of intensive workshop and dialogue. Capacity building underpins all of amrita's activities as we assist in nurturing a new generation of cambodian choreographers, directors and practitioners in all areas of arts management.
Programs: Amrita continues to work as a leading contemporary performing arts and production ngo in cambodia. Whilst continuing to develop and nurture our company of 18 emerging contemporary artists, our priority this year has been to build on the work that has taken place over the last twelve years in bringing cambodian contemporary art to regional and international arts communities. We have been honing our artist development program, expanding our production and administration team as well as investing time into forging connections with other regional and international artists and arts practitioners. Amrita believes in the holistic process-based capacity building that comes from providing our artists with opportunities for training in cambodia and internationally, through artistic collaborations and residencies. Amrita continued to promote cambodian contemporary arts through regional and international performances.
