The owner of Adore-a-Bullie Paws and Claws is not only highly unprofessional but she is also a liar and untrustworthy. It is a long story that can be found on my Facebook, but she will not utilize a single legal channel but still take your animal! She will promise to get your animal back but will not return him/her. I even asked to meet at a precinct multiple times - from the very beginning - so they can PROVE their allegations but she refused! I called the police twice - but they advised it was a civil matter.

We had no choice but to take her to court in an attempt to get our dog back.

First - she advised our dog was presented as an abused pup. We asked for legal docs - nothing. We asked for police report or any report - absolutely anything to prove her claims - nothing. No ASPCA report. No 311 report. No investigation. Nothing. We called the ASPCA to launch an investigation but they advised we can’t request an investigation. It'll be the rescue who launches the investigation. We all knew that wasn’t going to happen.

What she did do was threaten us with her “ties” to the police, ASPCA, Attorney General and everyone else under the sun. She tries to use this to scare people away with the hopes they give up! All of these “connections” and yet she doesn’t utilize them legally.

Then - recently - her story changed to our dog being presented as a stray. Meanwhile - we have proof of her accusing us of abuse - but since she decided to do everything but take the legal route she has decided to change her story to him being presented as a stray.

Now, it changed again where she’s advising they can no longer get in contact with the foster. She advised the foster - who owned the home - has moved and changed her number. This lady changes her story daily with the hopes that one will stick. They will try any and everything. Accuse you of harassment. Accuse you of absolutely anything and they vetted my dog knowing he already had vaccines and wasn’t due until a few months later! I even showed proof online!

She will also make it seem as though she doesn’t need to take dogs knowing very well she makes money off these animals and there are articles such as on the NYTIMES reflecting that rescues have become “retail operations.” I’m certain there are beautiful, noble, rescues out there but there are always a few rotten apples and she - in our experience - with evidence to back our story - is one of them!

Attached you will see that she advised she will get our dog back to us “NO MATTER WHAT.” Yet - she did not give our dog back after we provided her with not one but two agreements releasing all defendants from court because that was her concern. We even revised our agreement several times to her liking and our attorney emailed a very straight to the point agreement.

She scheduled to meet at a precinct to “transfer” our dog back to us - although we initially were going to meet at her home. That too never happened.

It is important to note that the foster also offered us $2,000.00 to keep our dog in which we have declined. We have proof of the $2,000.00 offer as well. This indicates they want to KEEP our dog and to us that is stealing! In our world, if we have something that is not ours and we don’t return it - we are stealing. That’s our take. If in the future we run into a situation and feel it requires law enforcement to get involved - we will involve them - but to simply take anything away from a family will never happen.

They never had intentions of returning our dog. Their intentions were to keep him, which is why the foster offered us money!

We have lost nearly a year with our dog and feel we have no more to lose but if our story can help one family that’ll at least make us a bit happy. This is an ongoing case at this time but we are too bothered by how they’re operating to withhold sharing with the public. This is a nonprofit organization that deals with families and they should be handling all legally and ethically. Not cussing people out and being nasty and taking dogs that have an owner. Imagine a rescue knowing the dog has an owner, agreeing to return him because she knows he wasn’t abused but not being satisfied with the agreement provided by not only the attorney but the plaintiff?

Ask yourself - why would she agree to return a dog that was “abused?” Why would she need surrender docs because he wasn’t abused?

Oh! We forgot - now he was presented as a stray!

Yet - she didn’t put in a file with NYACC because WE definitely did and he would’ve been matched! We reached out to everyone. ASPCA, NYACC, SPCA, the Police. I’ve attached an email that was sent to NYACC! Everyone! If he was reported to her as a stray - we would’ve had him by now! This is wrong and disturbing on so many levels.

I’ll update this post if she presents a new story because her stories change DAILY!

This organization is so unprofessional! They never explained this 501c3 rule to me until after I released my pet to them. There was no paperwork involved which was weird, and I asked about it. They talk to people rudely. They used profanity at me when I was simply trying to get my tax sheet from them which took me a month of constantly following up. They never put my dog up for adoption and decided to keep it for themselves. The head owner then called me twice one night at 10:30pm harassing me and threatened my tax sheet with the IRS. Do not do business with them!
