Mission: We help eradicate childhood deaths due to malnutrition while helping millions of american adults and children become more active and healthy.
Programs: Workplace activity challenge (wac) partners with business entities that currently have or are interested in developing employer sponsored wellness programs. Employers pay calorie cloud a fixed fee for access to the platform. Through this platform employers are able to track participant's activities and gauge the overall health and wellness of their employees. Individual participants can pair their existing fitness monitoring devices or applications with calorie cloud's application. Calorie cloud's application provides the participants with a dashboard that tracks their activity and calculates a monetary equivalent based on each activity or total calories burned. Each business entity then makes a monetary donation based on the actual activity of their participants. Throughout the year calorie cloud has worked with companies and employees throughout the united states. Currently, calorie cloud's team is comprised of 26 full time employees and independent consultants, in addition to hosted software providers. This team collaboratively works to develop the platform, sign up participating business entities, and support the program. The outreach, maintenance and ongoing development of this program will take approximately 30% of calorie cloud's time.
unicef kid power program seeks to encourage healthy activity among american kids. Kid power encourages american children to be active and measures their activity via kid power points. Calorie cloud then leverages sponsors of kid power to convert the kid power points into therapeutic food for malnourished kids around the world. Calorie cloud currently partners with teachers and parents to educate children about the global malnutrition crisis. Calorie cloud operates this program in conjunction with unicef us fund. Unicef us fund provides participants with the kids power band and calorie cloud provides the platform through which the activities are tracked. The activity tracked by the kids power band is uploaded to calorie cloud's software platform and is displayed as kids power points which are converted to life saving ready-to-use therapeutic food (rutf) distributed through unicef. In 2016, kid power for schools included 70,000 participants in 13 cities. In spring 2017, the kid power for schools program will scale to 175,000 participants in 49 states. Kid power is run by employees, independent consultants, and software providers of calorie cloud and unicef. Calorie cloud estimates that the outreach, maintenance, and ongoing development of kid power will take approximately 70% of calorie cloud's time. The combined programs of workplace activity challenge and kid power contributed over 4 million in rutf funding in 2016.
