Many Volunters staff this meal program to Seniors in L.A. Sister Alice Marie Quinn founded MOW in the 1970s. The Sisters of Charity have also been asssociated with it. I used their Alternative Healing Center at St. Vincent's Hospital in the 1980s when I was in pain from a misdiagnosed Rheumatic disorder. At that time I visited the small statue of St. Anthony on St. Vincent Hospital grounds and
prayed for a miracle to relieve the constant joint pain .
If you are considering a donation this is an efficient, compassionate choice. Remember, "It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."
St. Vincent Meals On Wheels is one of the most amazing organizations. In the field of senior nutrition, it is considered "top notch". Sister Alice Marie Quinn, founder and leader, does a great job of planning menus that are attractive and tasty. When a person is homebound, and all alone, receiving a delicious and nutritious meal is very important. The program goes beyond meal delivery by helping clients with other needs to ensure that this frail population is able to remain at home and live as independently as possible. Kudos to the St. Vincent Meals On Wheels staff and volunteers for making miracles happen every day.

This is an amazing program based entirely on compassionate service to homebound seniors and others who are hungry and alone. I got involved because of my grandfather and I have never regretted being a part of the St. Vincent Meals on Wheels family. I am amazed at the effective use of resources and the impact of this program. I am so proud to volunteer.
As volunteers my wife and I deliver hot meals one day each week to about 30 people, mainly seniors and disabled. This organization serves over 4400 meals daily including a lot of frozen meals and service to other meals on wheels and senior organizations. They have a staff of dedicated volunteers and wonderful employees who take their jobs very seriously. Money is always an issue but the scrimp and save and get by with whatever is sent their way.
i asked them to unsubscribe me 1/28/2012 and in the middle of may they are still sending me crap. my guess is on top of not honoring unsubscribes they sell your information to other charities to make a never ending pain in the azz out of themselves.
