Mission: To create exceptional, innovative and adventurous theatre and educational programming
Programs: Mainstage theatre productions: professional, multi-week theatrical productions and one-night readings - often world or midwest premieres - that promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and allied (lgbtqia) voices, histories, and perspectives in order to further the national dialogue on sexual and gender identity.
education & outreach programming: using a combination of theatre training and performance, social justice education, and professional development opportunities, aft's education and outreach programming is tailored to meet the artistic, emotional, and community needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and allied (lgbtqia) youth, age 13-24. Specific programs include aft's outreach tours, aft's youth task force, and the about face youth theatre.
