inlight richmond: inlight richmond is an annual outdoor temporary light-inspired contemporary art exhibition and community event in downtown richmond. Inlight richmond is an exploration and celebration of contemporary art free of charge for the whole community. With inlight richmond, 1708 gallery encourages broad public appreciation and access to contemporary art. Inlight introduces a new audience to contemporary art by making it fun, engaging and accessible. It also keeps 1708 gallery relevant within the contemporary art landscape, locally as well as nationally.

education and outreach: 1708 gallery's education and outreach programs focus on building and engaging our community in an effort to expand the understanding and appreciation of new art to the public. Our education programs provide opportunities for the community to engage with the artists and the art we present in an accessible format. Our outreach programs provide art experiences to a diverse public building broad community engagement and support.
