Publications: The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) improves the quality of policies, supports, and research on intellectual and developmental disabilities through the information published in its scholarly journals and catalogue of books. In addition, AAIDD offers tools used by disability professionals to gauge the supports needed by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in the community.
Education & Training: AAIDD educates professionals in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities through webinars, seminars, conferences, etc. to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Public Policy: AAIDD takes well-reasoned positions on issues important to the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Policy makers and others are informed by AAIDD's position statements in crafting policies and approaches to supporting people with disabilities.
Membership: AAIDD supports its members, who are professionals who work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, improve their practices, connect with other professionals, and share their research findings.
