The MCFJC Foundation does an incredible amount of unseen work to expand the impact that the Family Justice Center (FJC) has in our community. By addressing needs of the clients, including immediate financial support, food assistance, and transportation, the Foundation enables people to get the support they need during their most vulnerable moment. The Foundation provides a safe place for families to begin the work of leaving violent relationships and does so with a client-centered, collaborative and compassionate approach. The Foundation's impact is so critical to so many in the community and I am honored to volunteer with them and hope more people learn about their important work.

I am so thankful to the MoCo Foundation! The funds I received from the FJC Foundation helped cover rental payments and helped me not stress out and instead focus on my healing and my child. Thank you!

With the help of the Foundation's Lifeline paying for moving expenses, the domestic violence feels safe in her new address and does not have to worry about the Perpetrator coming to her home. "Thank you so much! You have no idea how helpful this was during a traumatizing moment in my life."

With the MCFJC Foundation's assistance providing a phone to a domestic violence client, she was able to communicate with her Client Assistant, DVS Legal Services Attorney, Child Welfare Services, and Shady Grove Medical Center for a forensic consultation. When I assisted her, she expressed how helpful having the phone was.

I work with the MCFJC Foundation and on my first day, I could tell how incredibly passionate the foundation is when it comes to helping victims of domestic violence. Everyone is focused on the mission and cares deeply about the cause and the survivors. I'm proud to work with such a charitable, giving organization.

I shout out the importance of our Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation! It is a successful and critical off-spring of the original and subsequent Violence Against Women Act which I cosponsored in Congress. Our FJCF gives comfort and support in all the ways necessary to assist victims of domestic violence and their families. Sadly, there has been an increase in the need for assistance. Whether lack of awareness of help and/or the implications of covid threats have played a role, MCFJCF is here and is more important than ever.
We are proud of the Foundation’s successes which include education of victims and the public, programing, and advocacy. Our dedication to protecting and strengthening our community is our deeply felt reward.

I recently had the opportunity to tour the Family Justice Center and was truly impressed by the incredible support the MCFJC Foundation provides. From the welcoming, thoughtfully furnished rooms—especially for children—to the wide range of practical programs, their support makes a huge difference for families in need.

The Foundation takes care of so many important details that help victims feel safe and supported. They offer transportation, help connect people with legal assistance, and provide support for obtaining emergency protective orders. They even supply cell phones for those whose devices have been destroyed or hacked by their abuser. One of their programs also helps victims get medical care if they have injuries.

While it’s heartbreaking that so many people are impacted by domestic violence, it’s comforting to know we have such an amazing resource in our community. The MCFJC Foundation is truly making a difference, and I’m grateful for all they do to support families during these difficult times.

The Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation is the best organization I have ever been a part of. The Foundation provides support to clients of the Family Justice Center who are survivors of domestic violence in addition to supporting programs to educate young people as well as the public about the scourge of domestic violence. The Foundation has supported educational programs to recognize domestic violence in neighbors and co-workers and has provided the resources for help. It is truly rewarding to know our fundraising efforts provide direct help to deserving people.

I am a member of the Foundation Board - our task is not only to raise money for the FJC, but also to invite others to become involved. It is critical that we all support this non-profit because the need for the services it offers keeps growing! A really wonderful staff and truly dedicated volunteers.

This is an incredible foundation. Not only do they help the Family Justice Center by providing services and items that can soften a hard day for families such as stuffed animals, diapers, cell phones, and rides to safety, but they work to stop domestic violence before it starts though education. The Montgomery County Family Justice Center program, RespectFest, educates teens, parents, and teachers about the warning signs of teen dating abuse. It is so inspiring to me that teens can get this information to safeguard their future relationships and stop domestic violence for good!

I have been volunteering for the Montgomery County Family Justice Center for over 10 years and now serve as the Treasurer of the Foundation. I cannot emphasize enough the incredible impact serving the center and knowing the incredible life line it provides to so many family in the county. I am the daughter and sister of survivors of domestic violence and although I do hope that my children will live in a world without violence, particularly violence perpetuated in our homes, until those hopes are actualized I will continue to give my time, talent, and treasure to this incredible organization through my work with the foundation to ensure that education and information on prevention is being disseminated in our community and any family experiencing domestic violence in Montgomery County has somewhere to go and people to support their healing.

I have been volunteering with the Foundation for nine years. It is so special to see how much it has grown and how many families have been helped at this one stop shop for resources, guidance, and safety. From a wide spread of initiatives, bringing awareness to teen dating violence and domestic violence and how it affects our community at large is only a part of this Foundation. Adding value and compassion to their work as they make tomorrow a better day to those who seek them out puts them on a completely different level.

I referred a co-worker to the FJC when she confided in me about the situation with her husband. He was tracking her and monitoring her cell phone and she was scared. She told me that she went to the FJC and worked with someone to help her make a plan to stay safe while she considered her options. They also gave her a cell phone that she could use to stay in touch the FJC and reach out for help if she feared from her safety. My friend felt very relieved to know that there were options and resources available to her. The Family Justice Center Foundation provides a great deal of support to help victims of abuse - we are lucky to have this resource in our community.

I have referred people to the Center, and uniformly they have reported it to be a warm, welcoming place to which they could turn under often terrible circumstances. Very impressive! Paul Bardack

I have volunteered at several events that the MCFJCF has organized. These have included fund raising, community outreach, and awareness programs. What impresses me the most is their comprehensive approach to tackling the problem. Not only do they help the Family Justice Center provide a safe haven for survivors, but they also focus on awareness campaigns, education, and advocacy. This is creating a community where domestic violence is recognized, confronted, and someday eliminated..

It is uplifting to know that there are organizations like MCFJCF re out there, working to make the world a safer and more compassionate place.

I referred a friend who was in an abusive marriage. English is not her first language and was concerned about receiving help. There were accommodations and support for her and her children and was guided through every step of the way. I was impressed that I continue to support the MCFJC Foundation.

I have lived in Montgomery County MD for most of my life. I went to school here, got married, raised children and have my own business. I grappled with family justice issues in my marriage but was lucky enough to have a family/friend support system that helped me move on. Not all families are that lucky. In Montgomery County we have this amazing foundation to support women and children in need, in both emergency situations and for longer periods to help them get out of harms way and to thrive. They provide resources and kindness where it is needed most. The caring and clarity that MCFJC embodies make me hopeful for the future of our families and their security. As a business owner it makes SO much sense to help local families so we have a healthy and robust work force for a "happy economy" and better future.

From the perspective of a volunteer at The Family Justice Center, I love to watch the impacts i’m helping to make on the families that come to The Family Justice Center. More specifically the children and teens that have been exposed to domestic violence or abuse. It makes me happy knowing that I am playing a role in supporting them on their journey to heal.

I moved to Bethesda, MD a year ago to be close to three of my daughters after my wife of 50 years died suddenly. Right after moving in, Amazon invited me into their Vine program. Vine is a group of product reviewers. We have access to thousands of products which we can get for free. We just have to write honest reviews about what we receive. I have four grandkids nearby and I was sending them stuffed animals and other toys. My daughter, Meghan, suggested that I redirect these freebies to an organization that could use them more than my grandkids could. She found MCFJCF and I got in touch with those wonderful people. We’ve since been working together daily to get STEM toys, school supplies, weighted stuffed animals (kids feel so safe with those), and other needs. I feel like I’ve found another family with this group. They are so caring and they get an enormous amount of good done with very limited resources. I am so appreciative of all they do for my new home, Montgomery County. They make a good difference in people’s lives.
