I am a volunteer for Childhood Cancer Community (CCC), and there is no where else that I'd rather volunteer. It is an absolute privilege to get to work with these families while they are dealing with so much in life. Spending time with the children in CCC's "Kids and Teen Club" is truly a highlight. These children and young adults are so resilient and are such brave warriors in their battles with cancer. So much is to be learned from them. One of my favorite events to volunteer at is CCC's Holiday Gathering in December. Each year, during the event, there is a slideshow that recaps all of the Community Nights and events shared by the families during the previous year, and this year was no exception! Take a few minutes to enjoy the joy shared by each of these families through the connections made possible by CCC. It is an honor to volunteer for this organization. They are so professional, caring, and embracing.
An amazing non-profit that has a personal connection to all new members and is easy to approach for support.
Our family has been so blessed by this organization. When our son was first diagnosed, we felt so isolated and scared. This group was a wonderful way to connect with other families and find support. The staff are so kind and helpful and they are just amazing people. They genuinely care and want to help the entire family. Thank you so much for all that you do CCC!

Childhood Cancer Community group has been such a blessing from the moment I reached out to them. My family had just started this nightmare of a journey and the kindness and support they showed us meant so much to me. Sherrie and Shanna provided resources, tips, and provided the love and support that only another family that has fought this fight would know how. This group provides monthly meetings or events for the entire family. It has been so helpful to connect with other families that are going through this same battle. Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am for this group. Thank you CCC for all that you do for our families. We love you guys!

Thank you Monica for sharing these heartwarming words. We are so happy to have gotten to know you and your family.
Our family was immediately welcomed with a personal phone call sharing support and stories at a time when we were feeling overwhelmed with medical information and shock. Just knowing others shared our journey helped us not feel alone. Our treatment plan hasn't allowed us to get involved, but we know we have options and others for advice.

Childhood Cancer Community 02/18/2025
Thank you for leaving a review for us. We know how treatment plans keep you very busy. CCC will always be here, whenever your schedule allows you to join us. We look forward to meeting your family in-person.
The Childhood Cancer Community is an exceptional nonprofit organization that generously supports children with all types of cancer and their parents. Monthly dinners and fun events are held throughout the year for the children and families to enjoy and forget about cancer. Group discussions are held with parents to discuss their concerns and fears of their child's cancer. This is a very special organization where childhood cancer families can belong and get to know families who have been on the same journey. Lifetime bonds between families are created quickly because of the Childhood cancer.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and share these kind words, Kathy. We are sincerely grateful for all you do, as a volunteer, for CCC.
When our daughter was diagnosed with leukemia the founders of CCC reached out to our family to offer their support. Everyone at CCC has been genuine and caring, providing support and compassion to our family along the way through this journey we never thought we would be apart of. We are so thankful for their gratitude and events to help support us along the way.

They are a bright light to my child and our family during this time of darkness. They have been there for us from first diagnosis throughout our whole fight. All of their meetings are very important to us and our quality of life and their gifts bring us true joy!

Thank you Tiffany for sharing what CCC means to your family. We are so happy that you have been able to join us whenever your schedule has allowed. What a beautiful family you have.
CCC has been a life line for our family - we joined after the worst of it: back surgery, weekly chemo for our 2.5 year old’s spinal tumor, hospitalization for sepsis from port infections…. Our only regret is not joining sooner when they first reached out. We will forever be indebted to their generosity and care. We hope to give back by volunteering and donating to CCC for many years to come.

We have loved getting to know your family and look forward to having you join us whenever your schedule allows.

CCC has helped us feel a sense of community when our child’s cancer diagnosis in 2019 isolated us in many ways from our circles of friends. Illness is uncomfortable for people, especially if it’s potentially fatal. They reached out by phone, email, social media etc. in warm and welcoming ways so we didn’t feel alone. It didn’t matter how many times we turned them down (events were too far, hard with little kids, busy with work). They kept trying. They make it personal, are genuine and truly have made a difference in our lives.

CCC provides incredible support, resources, and networking opportunities for families facing childhood cancer. It's humbling to see how many families attend the monthly meetings and special events--especially those who travel from out of town! I've been impressed by how many groups in the community have partnered with CCC to serve meals, fundraise, and provide other wonderful donations for the families. It's been a privilege to be part of this non-profit as a volunteer and the leadership team has always been thoughtful and appreciative of the volunteer team. They are genuine in the care they show for the children and families during their childhood cancer journeys and it's a wonderful group of people to be a part of.

Childhood Cancer Community 02/18/2025
We are the ones who should be thanking you Rachel, for all you do to help us in our Kids and Teen Club program! Thank you for serving along-side us and for bringing so much to the table every month. You are so good at what you do.
This is a non profit that truly cares for the entire family. They understand first hand how childhood cancer affects the whole family, not just the child. When my son was going thru treatment, they were our lifeline. I’m not sure how we would have managed without their support, wisdom, and encouragement. The other families at the monthly meetings had children that went through the same treatment my son would be starting. I took comfort in knowing exactly what to expect, through these parents. We shared the same fears and could support each other every step of the way.
It’s more than just a support group, it’s a mini family. They provide a wealth of resources too. We will always be appreciative for everything they provided for our family in our darkest hours. We feel blessed to have had them in our community.

It is an absolute honor to get to support Childhood Cancer Community! As a donor, I am very particular about the organizations I support. The one thing that stands out about Childhood Cancer Community is their transparency in everything they do! They send out an "Impact Report" every year letting their donors know where every dollar has been spent. And because they run exclusively with volunteers, and no paid staff, every penny goes to caring for the families they serve. If you are looking for a great organization to support, Childhood Cancer Community is very worthy of your contributions!

As a parent served by Childhood Cancer Community, I cannot say enough great things. From the moment we first connected with them, they have be so loving, caring, and welcoming. This group is a place that any family dealing with childhood cancer will find the support they need. And knowledgeable...if they don't immediately know the answer to the question you have, they will take the time to find the answer. Our family is so happy we have found this wonderful organization.

As a volunteer for Childhood Cancer Community (CCC), I wanted to share this story. In September, CCC welcomed 7 newly diagnosed families at their Monthly Community Night. It can be a rather scary time for a family as they walk through that door the very first time. But it is our privilege to make them feel welcomed, safe, and cared for as they arrive. We meet them at the door, welcome them, give them a tour of the facility, and seat them with a veteran family who will spend the entire evening with them. During their time with us they are made to feel warmly welcomed by all the other families in attendance. If you are looking for a great organization to volunteer with, please reach out to Childhood Cancer Community! It is so fulfilling.

My son (2) was diagnosed with retinoblastoma the day after thanksgiving and life had never felt so confusing and so beyond lonely. I had no idea what to expect how to process things etc, our social worker at Mayo told us about CCC and i immediately reached out to join. Within a few days of being added to the group another retinoblastoma mom reached out to me and it has been so beneficial being in contact with not only another mom whose son had the same cancer but other families going through what we have.

This ''nonprofit' cherry-picks the families they choose to help and have been known to blacklist other members of the childhood cancer community. They have had a negative impact on a number of families who are already stressed with one of the most difficult journeys a family can travel.
Excellent community based organization helping families dealing with various cancer diagnoses.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/20/2024
Thank you for your kind words and great review!
CCC Helped us navigate the ins and outs of dealing with Childhood Cancer for our son. We as parents received so much support, and he got to be a "normal" kid at all the events/ gatherings attended. They also supported his twin sister- which is amazing, cause siblings are not always thought of.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/20/2024
It has been our privilege getting to know and spend time with your remarkable family. Thank you for leaving a glowing review!
Childhood Cancer Community has been a fantastic organization to work with and has been a great support and resource for our family. We've attended serval events that they have hosted, and everyone was so kind and supportive. The events are fun for our kids and it is nice to meet and visit with other parents who are going through similar trials. They have been a great resource for finding out about opportunities available to our son who has ALL.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/09/2024
Such kind words George. Thank you for taking time to leave us a review, even with everything you have going on.
"Your child has cancer," No one ever expects to hear. We were at the best place possible, having a great team of doctors. CCC was great to have other parents going through similar experiences to talk to. Shanna and Sherrie coming to the hospital after our sons surgery, sharing their story, gave us hope and the light we needed. We wish we lived closer, now that our son is 10 years cancer free. We looked forward to the times we could make it to the monthly meetings and dinners to be around other families going through similar things.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/09/2024
Thank you for leaving this thoughtful review. We too wished you lived closer, but look forward to seeing you whenever possible!
My son is a cancer survivor and we appreciate the support CCC provides, including connecting us to other families impacted by cancer.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/09/2024
Thank you for this very kind review.
There is nothing to prepare you for hearing the words, "Your child has cancer". That was a day that will be ingrained in my mind forever, as it is with all parents who have went through this. We had a wonderful team of doctors who had come up with a plan to make my son cancer free. While all of those plans are great, there was a lot of questions that the doctors could not answer for us as parents. We were referred to a support group founded and run by a childhood cancer survivor and her mother. We were instantly taken in by the group and offered so much support and help. We attended meetings when we could and met many parents who had gone through the same story as ours. While the doctors did a wonderful job treating my son physically, the Childhood Cancer Community group helped us emotionally in ways that are hard to put into words. The biggest thing I took away from our experience is, you are not alone. No one should ever need to go through this journey alone. Childhood Cancer Community makes sure that you never need to.

Childhood Cancer Community 07/08/2024
Thank you Beth, for sharing these words from you heart. So very kindly spoken.

5 years ago our son was diagnosed with leukemia. I remember feeling so scared, overwhelmed and helpless. Childhood Cancer Community gave us a place to hear stories of hope, a place to get real life questions answered and a place to cry with other families who just get it. The family gatherings became the highlight of our month. We got to come as a family for a delicious dinner and then know that our kids were being highly entertained by amazing volunteers while the parents were able to share concerns and progress about their child’s cancer treatment as well as be there for other families on their journeys. We are forever grateful for the friendships we have made through this group!

The Childhood Cancer Community organization is an amazing organization. They treat everyone like family and are so helpful, kind, and extremely supportive. They provide monthly gatherings, that include fantastic activities, education, a meal, and time to visit with other families going through the same issues that you are. This is a time to get away from your daily troubles and be with others in a safe and fun environment. I cannot say enough great things about this organization.

Childhood Cancer Community is a welcoming space for families to be met with open arms during a vulnerable and scary time in their lives. CCC is made of people who have walked childhood cancer journeys, and therefore can support one another through new diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and bereavement. CCC does everything to the highest standard because they care and value the families they serve. CCC is a fantastic and needed nonprofit.

I have both worked with and volunteered with a number of nonprofits, and CCC stands above the rest! Everything CCC does is to the highest standard because of how deeply they care about the families they serve. No matter where you are in your childhood cancer journey, CCC opens you with welcome arms, connect with you, support you, and stays with you through the ups and the downs. They truly are an incredible organization!

Childhood Cancer Community 02/11/2023
Thank you Jessica for serving as one of our incredible volunteers! You have such a heart for helping and caring for others. CCC would not be able to serve without every volunteer who helps us along the way.
The Childhood Cancer Community does an amazing job supporting families with a child battling cancer. They create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels embraced and cared for. Their family events provide a much-needed respite for children and parents, offering a chance to momentarily forget about their struggles. These gatherings have been a lifeline for our family, with the children engaging in activities and crafts while parents share experiences and support one another. Being among others who understand the unique challenges of pediatric cancer has been incredibly comforting and empowering. The dinner gatherings have been particularly beneficial, allowing us to connect with fellow parents who are walking a similar path. Sharing our journeys and hearing the stories of others has reinforced our resolve to keep fighting. It's a powerful reminder that we are not alone and that there is a network of caring people ready to offer help whenever it's needed. We are deeply grateful to Shanna, Sherrie, Jack, Ray, and all the volunteers for their unwavering support and constant presence in our lives during this challenging journey.

CCC reached out to us when my son was in the hospital for brain cancer. They were supportive and encouraging and connected us with other families who had been in our shoes, resources and information. When his cancer came back recently, they reached out again and have been so caring. Their outreach is to the whole family, and they have impacted not just myself and my son, but all of my children, my parents and in-laws. We feel incredibly blessed to be a part of this group.

My daughter has had Lymphoma twice, and we are currently monitoring 3 spots in her abdomen. The Childhood Cancer Community is the support that understands what you're going through and loves you and your family indefinitely. It's often hard to hold your head up going through the hard stuff, and they care and understand. I recommend any parent or young adult share your story, you won't regret it!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this great review. We appreciate you.
My son was diagnosed with stage IV medulloblastoma brain cancer in November 2015 and underwent brain surgery, 30 rounds of proton beam radiation, and a year of chemo. CCC has helped us so much with the roller coaster of emotions that parents/families go through while their child battles cancer. Every member has a child with a cancer story, and they know exactly what you're going through, so they can relate to the feeling involved. CCC has monthly events with dinners for the families, crafts and activities for the kids, and support group sessions for the parents. We have enjoyed the support so much that we now volunteer for CCC whenever we can. Kind of a "Pay it Forward" type of thing. Not only have we been helped by CCC, but we have also become good friends with many of the families and members. CCC is a blessing for us and for all families who have come to be a part of it. On a scale of 1 to 10, this organization is an 11!!!

Childhood Cancer Community 07/04/2024
Thank you Curt for this most gracious review! Thanks also for your never ending willingness to volunteer to help us out. It is much appreciated.
My son was diagnosed with stage IV medulloblastoma brain cancer in late 2015 and underwent an extensive 6-hour brain surgery. We learned about the Childhood Cancer Community (CCC) Support Group from a mother whose son also had brain cancer. We became members of CCC in early 2016. The tremendous support, acceptance, knowledge, and especially the unconditional love that children and parents receive from this Group is extraordinary! Members are given a safe place to come and have dinner with families like themselves and share in their struggles and fears with parents who truly understand what it's like to have a child with cancer. CCC is outstanding in providing monthly dinners and uplifting, fun events throughout the year (without any cost to its members), for cancer kids and their parents to join in and forget about cancer for a while. We are very grateful and blessed to be a part of this incredible Group.

As the parents of a child who has survived cancer, we know first-hand all of the different emotions that accompany this diagnosis. A huge thank you to Childhood Cancer Community (CCC) for encouraging families to stay with the organization for as long as they'd like after their child has completed treatments. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We do care very deeply for the families we serve.
CCC was the connection we were looking for and greatly needed. We became connected after our daughter's medulloblastoma treatment. A flyer I discovered buried in the folder of resources I had compiled while at St. Mary's in Rochester, MN but had not been able to get to due to the busyness of radiation and chemo. I called the number to inquire, and was so greatful for Sherrie for her time, and listening ear. What a gem. We travel 2 hours for this support group, but it's priceless!! It's what the doctor ordered!! Others going thru a journey one can never imagine until you walk it. We are forever grateful. God bless all in this group!

Childhood Cancer Community 02/11/2023
Thank you Tina, for taking the time to provide your story. It has been an honor and privilege getting to know your family.
What can I say- This is a group that you never want to belong to but if you do, they go well beyond to make everyone feel welcome in their walk of life. Some of us join in the beginning, some in the middle, and some at the end of treatment, depending on when you need to reach out for help. We joined in the middle and it was the best decision we could have made. Everyone has been so supportive and we've met several families with the same type of tumor. It's so great to be able to talk to someone else that knows exactly what you are or have gone through and to share information, advice, resources, or just lend an ear when needed. In this group, we celebrate milestones together, we share the good & bad, and everyone truly cares about one another. Definitely a deserving group.

This group is a wonderful resource for families battling cancer. They provide resources to families such as places where they can get financial assistance, etc. during their cancer battle. They host fun events that help take your mind off of your situation and they are inclusive of the whole family. They are getting ready to start bereavement sessions, to help families that have lost their children to this horrible disease.
