Joining Tammi class Was one of my best decisions. I love learning all the dances, and keeping my body healthy and energized! It’s so much fun!!
This is such an underrated community asset!!! It is an absolutely wondeful way to interact, stay social, and learn something. All the while improving physical and mental health.
This is my first dance class of any kind!
I was extremely intimidated before I came. I have always wanted to take a dance class but never did.
Once I walked in the door I knew I was in the right place.
Tami, her husband Clay, and the other dancers were all so incredibly welcoming!
I honestly have two left feet! Tami was and is so extremely patient and reassuring with me. Even though I sometimes struggle to remember my right foot actually is as opposed to where it supposed to be. Lol
Tami's YouTube videos are a huge help and allow me to practice in-between classes. I also appreciate that all of the dancers present, are of different dancing levels.
This is just so much fun, spending time with so many friendly, and encouraging people. The camaraderie is real here.
It's a good workout for me, especially since I am using muscles that I haven't used or even seen in a while. I have noticed that my coordination and my balance have improved.
While listening to music that we love and grew up with, we learn standard dances such as the Cha Cha, Electric Slide, etc., along with some of the newer to me dances such as the Tamia Line dance.
This is fun fun fun!
I can't wait until my next function, I am definitely hitting the dance floor with some serious moves and new found confidence!!!
My only complaint about this class, is that it is offered only once a week. I would like to see this class offered more often and in more locations.
So many other senior citizens such as myself could greatly benefit from attending this class.
Thank you!
Your exercise has helped me greatly. Now instead of using my wheelchair, I can walk into class every week. I also have more hand function in my bad hand.
God bless you!

I really enjoy line dancing with Tammi. When I first started I didn’t know the steps and I was a little frustrated. However Tammi is very patience and helpful she is a great instructor. She is passionate about her work. I love her classes so much fun and great exercise. I’m grateful for her class.
Arthritis is horrible. All my joins hurt but this gentle movement truly made land exercise possible for me. Thanks to Tammy and her husband for bringing this movement to my community. I know everyone enjoys your classes and the health information you share with us.
I am 53 years old and I am a caregiver. I have been attending the chair exercises on Tuesdays at Telacu senior apartments it starts 1:30pm and I love it! The music is great and it is alot of fun!!! Tami is a great instructor and she makes it fun so you forget how much work it is. I have noticed being more at ease with my range of motion as well as when I am doing other things such as moving, lifting and walking. I highly recommend this kind of exercising as you can go at your own pace and when you become familiar with everything you can step up your pace. No worries about messing up we laugh at ourselves then keep on going.
My name is Betty Hicks and I have Parkinson’s disease. I want to lift up Dr . Clay and Tami Drayton who are a fantastic team in my Senior Covenant Class at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California. For the past three years Clay has fed us Seniors a bountiful meal of God’s Word, and Tami gives a heavenly dessert of guiding us at the end of the class with spiritual motivational exercise through Songs of praise and worship using “move and groove’ . You can’t help but feel the movement of the power of the Holy Spirit touching hearts through the love both Clay and Tami! May God bless their ministry!
Tami, teaches a chair exercise class every Sunday at my church. It is so invigorating & stimulates all the muscles in your entire body. Believe it or not it is really good for you health-wise & is a lot of fun. We leave recharged & ready to take on the world.
I am blessed to participate in the Toning and Line Dancing classes. A few months ago I was walking in a parking lot of a restaurant. They had newly installed parking stops in the parking stalls which I did not see, and I hit one with my foot and fell. I could have broken bones but instead quickly bounced up! The only thing hurt may have been embarrassing myself! Thank God I was in shape because of our classes!
Since becoming a client and donor of this organization, I have become more extroverted. I have made some long term friends and met some amazing people. I used to be quite sedentary, I’m more active and much more aware of the benefits of healthy eating. I love performing Soul Line Dancing and line dancing in general; and enjoy attending the Move & Groove For Health exercise/dancer-size classes. (Eleanor)

My journey to better health began less than two years ago. At that time, I was unable to the simplest of things. Things that most people take for granted. I had sleepless nights because I was not able to roll over without sitting up and turning over. I could not lift my feet to clean them in the shower. I would not take a bath unless someone was home in case I was unable get out of the bath tub. I could not sweep, mop and vacuum my floor on the same day without horrible back pain. Sometimes becoming bed ridden for several days. I could not walk up a flight of stairs without using the rails for support or without stopping at each level. I would limit my shopping for food because I was unable to push a cart full items. I could not carry groceries from my car to the house without assistance. MY life seemed limited.
Since my involvement with "Move & Groove For Health" my quality of life has improved along with my health. Just recently, the results of my blood test are ALL within normal range. WooHoo. I am motivated to stay active not only with this group but in my community. I love what I do and I'm excited about it. My family has noticed the difference. The only downside to this journey is that I've lost weight and now need to get new clothes, yay!

When I retired it was a combination of being unable to move about without pain and just being disinterested with my life. It wasn't until I began to dance with Tami that I felt a part of something and the more I danced the more I was able to move about freely without hurting. Now I never sit down and I am getting out to other venues where line dancing makes the experience enjoyable.
Early in 2016 I attended my first soul line dance class with Move & Groove.
An hour later, I left sweaty, huffing and puffing, but with a giant smile on my face! It’s exercise without the dull drum of exercise for my body and my mind. I highly recommend Move & Groove to seasoned women and men looking to live a more healthy life and to have fun doing it.
Tami, Move Groove for your health have saved my life emotionally mentally &physically.

When I heard that Tami was starting SLD at the Senior Center, I was ecstatic because I love Soul Music and I love to dance. I really enjoy Tami's enthusiastic SLD class! Tami I just want to thank you for the wonderful classes. I thoroughly enjoy them. I'm a bit limited as to doing some things such as spinning around because I get dizzy, but Tami modifies the dances so I can keep on dancing.
May God continue to bless your business with supernatural increase. It's a great way to workout while dancing to the music I absolutely love.
I'm 77 yrs old and I have been her student from the very 1st class.

I don't know how to thank you enough for introducing me to soul line dancing.
I never imagined that I could dance. Dancing has changed my life. I'm more confidant and it makes me feel good & beautiful again. I didn't think that there was Life after divorce. I was wrong!
I'm having so much fun and enjoying every minute of it and I'm exercising at the same time. I'm looking forward to my Mon, Wed & Fri mornings because I know finally there is an interesting & fun thing for me to do.
Through the line dancing class. I have found some new friends, and you have become my extended family.
God Bless. Jocelyn R
I've been attending the Soul Line Dance class since Jan 2017. The workout and instruction is much more than I expected and the medical benefits truly shocked me. I'm a Type2 Diabetic, my A1C level was 11, Three months later it was 7.7. My doctor said keep dancing and she is happy that I found a way to workout and enjoy it! Exercise is important and trying to find a sustainable and enjoyable class is not easy. Your class has given me something to look forward to and my medical numbers show it.

I think this is the BEST class. There are so many different races in here and they all enjoy dancing together. They help and encourage each other to do the dances. It's a beautiful class. AND I have lost a little weight because of it too!

It was December 19th 2015 - I went to a concert with a friend. After the concert, I walked down the street & as I stepped forward my left foot caught and uneven piece of sidewalk and I lost my balance I could not move my feet fast enough to catch myself so I fell hard. I hit the cement with such impact I rolled over on my back and laid there to gather my wits. eventually I slowly crawled toward a gate where 2 young men stopped and assisted me to my feet. Thank God I didn't break anything but I was extremely bruised. It took me a long time to heal.
Fast forward early this month 2 friends introduced me to The Soul line dance class. After only two & 1/2 weeks of participating in the class, my flexibility and strength have improved so much that I was able to avoid another terrible fall as I walked down the cement walkway of my home. I was able to step aside fast enough to stay on my feet at 67 years of age. What a tremendous blessing and benefit from attending these morning classes at the senior center under the excellent instruction of Tami.
Thank you for doing what you do Miss Tami Oh yeah, and we have a good time too!

My husband & I love to Move & Groove now.
My husband, who is a Caucasian, has never had any experience with soul line dancing. He now knows how to confidently do 7 dances. Thanks to the teaching and the fun, fun, fun, classes, we danced when we went on a Carnival Cruise last month.
Some ladies from the Inland Empire asked where I learned the dances. I proudly said Soul Line Dance Class in Moreno Valley.
My “rhythm challenged” husband was pleasantly surprised he could hold his own with other line dancers, thanks to the soul line dance class.
We, especially my husband, received compliments from the people watching.
Six months ago, my husband said he didn’t know a sailor-sailor step, from a Cha-Cha,
Now, he's a Dancing Machine!
I retired Sept 2016 and wanted to find an exercise I would enjoy, someone told me about Tami’s Class, and it has been the best thing for me. I have lost pounds and inches, and have learned over 20 dances, it really keeps your mind working, remembering all those steps. I have met new people and have started new friendships. Now when I’m asked what do You do, I simply say LINE DANCE!
Along with moving and grooving to better health, I have met many wonderful people and became reconnected with others! I appreciate the sense of family and Christian fellowship! Thanks Tami! Jackie Banks
This is a joy for me to share my story.
My name is Genevieve Holt, I am 73 years old of Samoan Heritage.
I love to dance and when I heard that there was a soul line dance starting at the Moreno Valley Senior Center I signed up immediately. Our first class had five members the next day 8 the next day 15 and then boom we have over 50 members every morning I have class. I have lost weight due to the class and eating healthier, the class helps lift my spirit when I'm down. I also have met some wonderful people and made new friends like Ester and Joy. My family love the fact that I can get out and dance with people my age, my grandson has even come to one of our parties with me. They know it keeps me active in spite of having a pinched nerve which sometimes limits me for a short time. Even when I'm not feeling my best, I'm fit to be tied, so I come out to class anyway because there are others who don't feel 100% but they come out and when I see them giving their all, it encourages me. I say to myself "if they can do it, I can do it too". And by the end of class I feel great.
Tami D soul line dancing class helps me get active exercise and coordination of my brain to my muscles. She also teaches the class to stay hydrated when exercising and replacing electrolytes. Thank you for bringing rhythm into my husbands life who was rhythmless before your class. In September we went on a cruise and he was able to dance the 4 standard line dances which he was not able to do last year. He enjoys coming the Thursday night tutoring classes and now knows how to do about 7 dances and he only knew one when he started. His favorite dance is called “ fun”. So again I say thank you Tami for teaching us soul line dances and the fun you bring to our lives. You are truly gifted and I believe you are doing what God called you to do “DANCE “. When you went on your cruise My husband and I truly missed your teaching.
I noticed one morning my knees creaking when I got up in the morning. I decided it was time to take a dance class to see if I could get more activity and increase elasticity in my knees. I consulted the Moreno Valley community directory, noticed a soul line dancing class and attended. One year later, my knees are in much better shape, my blood pressure is down, I feel great, and I finally learned how to really dance!! I attribute the majority of this change to the wonderful dance class I attend Mon-Wed-Fri. Thank you so much, Tami for being such a great instructor. Blessings, Wanda Scruggs
I am 67 years of age product of two knee replacement, high blood pressure every since I join move and groove my blood pressure has been excellent, I feel good my knees are moving good I also have Degenertive Arthritis and my body is not as stiff.
Wow, where to start? The health benefits for me have been fantastic. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2011 and my A1C was 7.8. I started attending the Soul Line Dance classes led by Tami Drayton of Move and Groove for Health in 2015. Prior to that it was a struggle to lower my A1C. Currently it is down to 6.6 and I am on 1/4 the dosage of metformin than when I was first diagnosed. I have lost approximately 15 pounds. I am so grateful that this program is available to the senior citizens in our community.
Since joining the Move and Groove For Health classes over a year ago, I have become more active and exercise more than ever. I am not so much an introvert as I. used to be.
I have made some amazing friends, and this will help keep me busy when I retire.
Thank you Tami D, for your support and confidence.

Move and Grove for health have brought motivation to the seniors in Moreno Valley, they are more energize and happy. I enjoy the class and it keeps me on my toes and keeps my mind and memory working learning the steps and keeps me feeling healthy. Move and Grove is an asset to Moreno Valley seniors.
May of 2016 I was 240lbs. I started line dancing with Move and Groove 4 Health three days a week at the Moreno Valley Senior Center. A year later something amazing happened. I stepped on my scale and the first time in over 20 years the first number on the display was NOT a 2. I cried tears of joy. In addition to the weight loss, I've met so many wonderful people and my social calendar stays full.
Many thanks to my line dance instructor who has inspired me to go beyond my comfort zone and enhance my life.

I started with Moove and Groove a little over a year ago. I was nervous at first because it was such a big class but everyone was so warm and welcoming that is was clear this was a family. Tami has done a great job of creating a program that strengths only our minds and our bodies in a social setting. She genuinely cares about the members, she looks out for them, asks about them when they break their rountine a miss and class and truely enjoys her interactions with everyone. Due to some personal struggles I was no longer comfortable praying. On my first morning of class Tami started by praying over us. I was frozen in place and couldn't believe this stranger without even knowing had broken down the wall that had kept me from being able to pray. I feel better, look better and have made wonderful new friends since starting Move and Groove! Thank you Tami and Clay for everything you do
